The Photographer Forging a Connection Through Vivid Images
Transcript
00:00 Art is like part of me, it's something that I love so much.
00:07 I love color, I love compositions, I love shapes, texture.
00:12 And so I thought I would just be the person who doesn't speak but create things that speaks
00:19 louder than my words.
00:22 I love photography and I love painting so let me find a middle ground where I can bring
00:36 people who love photography and people who love painting together.
00:40 So that's when I created that bridge, that aesthetic of like a thin line between surrealism
00:46 and then narratives.
00:56 I always believe that you don't need heavy resources or equipment to be able to achieve
01:01 the creative idea or the message that you're going for.
01:05 You can have like a huge equipment and all the resources but then if the message is not
01:11 good then what are we doing?
01:22 It's a cycle in that community that kind of like, it feels like you go inside and you
01:27 come out and you turn out to be nothing.
01:30 Because there's no like resources or enough people actually helping the kids gain access
01:36 to an education.
01:44 I come from Ghana, I was born in Ghana, I was born and raised.
01:47 And having opportunities like this is like super humbling and inspiring to me.
01:53 It's important for someone like me to keep the gate open and not shut it, you know.
01:59 And also it's like once the gate is open a lot of people can come in now.
