00:00 The Russian military recently transferred several Black Sea Fleet vessels from the port
00:08 in occupied Sevastopol in Crimea to the port of Novorossiysk in Krasnodar Krai, likely
00:13 in an effort to protect them from continued Ukrainian strikes on Russian assets in annexed
00:19 Crimea.
00:20 The Institute for the Study of War says satellite imagery shows that Russian forces transferred
00:26 at least 10 vessels from Sevastopol to Novorossiysk, including three diesel submarines, five landing
00:34 ships and several small missile ships.
00:38 Ukrainian officials say that the sea battlefront line has been pushed back at least 185 kilometres
00:45 from Ukraine's coast since Russia's full-scale invasion began.
00:52 Natalia Khomenyuk, head of Ukraine's Southern Military Command's press centre, said that
00:56 ships and boats of the Black Sea Fleet are not sailing towards Ukraine's territorial
01:01 waters now and, while appearing near the Crimean coast, they do not go beyond Cape Tarhankut,
01:08 which is right here.
01:10 At the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, Russian ships approached
01:15 Ukraine's region of Odessa within artillery strike range.
01:23 By the end of September, the UK defence ministry said the Russian Black Sea Fleet has suffered
01:27 a series of major attacks, more damaging and more coordinated than thus far in the war.
01:33 A dynamic deep strike battle is underway in the Black Sea.
01:37 This is likely forcing Russia into a reactive posture while demonstrating that Ukraine's
01:42 military can undermine the Kremlin's symbolic and strategic power projection from its warm
01:48 water port in occupied Sevastopol.
