Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglu on listening to the VAR audio and the human error made in their game against Liverpool

00:00 As I said, it's a significant error, but it's a human being that's made an error.
00:03 I don't think that there's anything that needs to go too far reaching.
00:09 I guess everyone just wants to make sure what happened doesn't happen again.
00:14 And when you listen to the audio, I mean, I'm no expert in these things.
00:17 And that's the other thing, don't ask managers and players about the rules of the game.
00:22 We don't know half of them.
00:23 The referees do.
00:25 We shouldn't be commenting on it, because if a referee commented on the tactics of a game,
00:28 we'd all be jumping up and down as well.
00:30 At some point, we've got to respect their position.
00:32 And look, I'm not one that hasn't complained about decisions in the past,
00:36 and I probably will in the future.
00:37 But in the prism of that, if they're made on the back of mistakes, then that's part of,
00:43 like I said, it's part of our game.
00:45 It's not supposed to be flawless.
00:49 As I say, players, managers make mistakes.
00:52 Referees at times will make mistakes.
00:55 But from my perspective, when I listened to that audio, I just thought, well,
00:58 saying check complete, somebody obviously thought that's a good way of finalising things,
01:05 and it's worked up until now.
01:06 But I would have thought the logical thing would say, goal for Liverpool, and there isn't anything.
01:10 But I'm saying that with the ignorance of not knowing how it's really set up.
01:15 But I think when you listen to that, you probably go,
01:18 there's probably better ways of communicating a clear decision in such a big situation.
01:24 And I'm hoping that's what they're addressing, not the individual who made the mistake.
01:28 Because I think that's a dereliction of the game.
01:31 That's like me hanging out a player to dry just because he made a mistake.
01:35 My role is to go in there and help that player improve, not to say, well, you're never playing again.
