00:00 Of course, so Iona is a loggerhead sea turtle.
00:02 So they're a tropical species of turtle that are found kind of all over the world in the warm seas.
00:07 However, Iona was found on the Isle of Iona, which is just off the coast of Moore.
00:11 And unfortunately, it cold stunned.
00:13 So there's round about a dozen sea turtle strandings around the UK every year.
00:18 But Iona was quite special in the fact she was the smallest live cold stranded turtle.
00:24 So it was incredibly rare to find one that small and yet alone one that was alive.
00:28 So the residents on Iona did an amazing job.
00:31 I think it caught them very much off guard.
00:33 It's quite surreal in a way, because she's been with us for a long time.
00:37 So there's been a lot of work going on behind the scenes to get her over here.
00:40 So it was the culmination of everybody's hard work.
00:44 And it was really strange in the fact that
00:47 that was the end of my part in her journey.
00:51 And it was a really lovely feeling to see her kind of just go off into the big blue.
00:56 And I think the biggest thing I have that apprehension really of kind of
00:59 what's going to happen to her, where is she going to go now?
01:01 But I know that the part that we've all played
01:04 is giving her the best chances that we can do in the wild.
01:07 Well, sea turtles around the world are really facing challenges.
01:11 And I dread to say really that human face challenges.
01:15 So that's through climate change and also our interaction
01:18 with the natural environment and turtles themselves.
01:20 So their numbers have been diminishing over the years.
01:23 so one individual within a population is always important.
