00:00 But today, working people are grafting while ministers in their ivory tower in Whitehall.
00:08 The truth is, and I'm not afraid to say it, it's a responsible government that recognises
00:15 their role in providing stability in people's lives.
00:19 But stability has been smashed at the hands of this Prime Minister, who in his conference
00:25 speech spent an hour rallying against plots and controversies that don't exist, worshipping
00:32 at the altar of Liz Truss, a government that has gone off the rails quite literally in
00:38 the north.
00:39 The Prime Minister's speech didn't even mention housing once.
00:46 No doubt that's because his housing policy is the same as his new smoking policy - increase
00:51 the prices year on year so eventually no one can buy.
01:04 The truth is, looking down from his private jet, Rishi Sunak can't understand why young
01:09 people can't get on the housing ladder.
01:12 Don't forget, this is the man who boasted about snatching taxpayers' money from deprived
01:18 areas and funnelling it into wealthy ones.
01:21 He tells working people they're just lacking aspiration, they aren't working hard enough.
01:28 All the while, people are kept up at night by the pit in their stomach whether their
01:33 paycheque will cover the bills or be enough to keep the roof over their heads, or whether
01:39 their children will ever earn enough to be free from the same anxiety which keeps them
01:44 up at night.
01:47 That's because Rishi Sunak and his party have taken a sledgehammer to the foundations on
01:52 which a good life can be built.
01:55 And now the simple things in life are crumbling - a decent job, a secure affordable home and
02:03 a strong community.
02:06 Simple things this government has snatched away from working people.
