00:00 The University of the Philippines Journalism Department launched the Media and Information Literacy Project.

00:05 I'm KUP Journalism Department Chairperson, Cara David.

00:08 And in addition, teachers helped to improve the teaching of media and information literacy to senior high school students.

00:15 The project's goal is the basic of journalism, fact-checking, and the fight against misinformation and disinformation.

00:22 Lecturers will serve, some GMA-integrated news reporters and anchors,

00:27 including our co-hosts, Ivan Meirina and Maris Umali,

00:30 and Connie Sison and Tom Arollio, and GMA-integrated news consultant, Howie Severino.

00:36 In the launch of the project, we will also discuss other issues,

00:40 such as the learning crisis and the lack of interest of students in the news.
