Hamas terrorists launched a surprise attack on Israel yesterday morning, using a variety of methods to breach the country's defenses.
One of the most audacious methods used by the terrorists was motorised paragliders. Footage showed squads of Palestinians on suicide missions swooping over the border on the aircraft, firing machine guns and causing chaos among civilians.
In addition to the paragliders, the terrorists also used explosives to break through the border fence and fired thousands of rockets into Israel from Gaza. Convoys of motorcycles and pick-up trucks then sped into Israel, while other terrorists reportedly jumped into heavily armed speedboats to storm naval defenses.
The attack was launched on the last day of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, when many Israelis were out enjoying the festivities. This was a deliberate attempt by Hamas to spread maximum panic and terror.
One of the first targets of the attack was an open-air music concert in the desert. Footage showed the revellers desperately clambering into cars to try to flee the invaders. In the nearby town of Nahal Oz, terrified residents were forced to hide inside their homes.
As the day unfolded, brutal close-quarters gun battles erupted in towns across Israel. Bodies, including civilians, piled up on the streets as the deadliest attack Israel has endured for years unfolded.
