00:09 >> If we could change the way they use it
00:12 so that it becomes a tool for learning,
00:14 then we would have won a lot both in terms
00:19 of giving the students a new tool for learning,
00:22 but also in terms of the relationship with the students
00:24 because if we can have the conversation with them
00:27 about how to use AI, then the whole idea that they can't talk
00:32 to us about it because it's forbidden goes away.
00:35 And whether or not you like this and whether
00:37 or not you think it's problematic, you have
00:39 to realize that it is here.
00:41 And if you drive it underground,
00:43 then you stop all conversation about it.

01:06 >> We can use detectors.
01:07 Then the AI companies are going
01:11 to improve whatever programs they're using
01:16 so that the programs can evade the detectors.
01:19 We're going to have to develop new detectors.
01:21 It's an arms race.
01:22 It is also a misunderstanding to think that the primary goal
01:26 of the school system is to detect students who cheat.
01:31 The primary goal of the school system is
01:34 to teach the students.
01:35 The primary product here is the learning
01:38 which the students experience.
01:39 >> I think it's a nice way of using it.
01:43 It's giving you a couple of answers.
01:46 If you are in doubt of what the text is about and such,
01:50 you can use it to get a more understanding of it.
01:53 >> I think it's great.
01:54 I mean, it's a tool almost like any other thing in the world.
01:59 Like it's almost like a search engine,
02:04 but you can be more specific with it.
02:06 You know, it can give you more straight answers
02:09 than typing something into Google.
