00:00 I guess I didn't think that bees not needing to make honey would affect all these other
00:03 things.
00:04 Welcome to WatchMojo and today we're looking at the most terrible and baffling choices
00:10 adults made in animated films.
00:13 We'll exclude movies created for older audiences and include spoilers.
00:23 Number 10.
00:25 Syndrome leaves the supers alive.
00:27 The Incredibles.
00:28 The super villain Syndrome comes up with a brilliant plan to make himself look like a
00:32 hero by publicly defeating one of his evil Omnidroids.
00:45 He usually tests out his creations by having them fight and kill heroes like Mr. Incredible.
00:50 But after an Omnidroid defeats the super Syndrome leaves his foe alive.
00:55 The super villain makes the problem even worse by capturing the rest of Mr. Incredibles family
01:00 too.
01:08 As soon as the heroes get a chance they escape and thwart his evil plan.
01:13 Syndrome's defeat could have been avoided had he just taken that extra step to eliminate
01:18 his foe.
01:19 Letting Mr. Incredible live was just about as bad a decision as wearing a cape.
01:36 Number 9.
01:37 Eleanor Burns Merida's Bow.
01:39 Grey.
01:40 Over the years several animated parents have destroyed their kids belonging in a misguided
01:46 attempt to make a point.
01:47 Triton blasted his daughter Ariel's treasures to bit to keep her away from the dangers of
01:52 humanity.
02:00 While that decision was bad, Queen Eleanor's choice in Brave was arguably worse.
02:06 After her daughter Merida disrupts a traditional courting ceremony the two get into a heated
02:11 argument.
02:12 The Queen ends the fight by throwing her child's beloved bow into a fire.
02:23 This rash decision sets off a series of events that result in Eleanor being magically turned
02:29 into a bear.
02:30 If the Queen had just used her words her animal transformation would have never happened.
02:43 Number 8.
02:44 A couple eats without asking.
02:46 Spirited Away.
02:48 After Chihiro and her parents stumble upon a seemingly abandoned village they discover
02:52 heaps of delicious food.
03:01 It's already suspicious that there's not a soul in sight but the fact that the food was
03:06 steaming hot without any human supervision should have been a major red flag.
03:10 Although Chihiro tries to discourage her parents from eating they blissfully chow down.
03:24 A few scenes later it's revealed that the food has transformed her parents into pigs.
03:30 Chihiro has to do a ton of work to get her parents back to human form.
03:34 What makes this entire situation worse is that the adults don't have any memory of
03:39 their big change.
03:40 By the end of the film the parents haven't learned a single lesson.
03:50 Number 7.
03:52 Mother Gothel stays close to the kingdom.
03:54 Tangled.
03:55 Once this twisted villain discovered that Princess Rapunzel had healing powers the antagonist
04:00 took the child from a castle.
04:07 Mother Gothel spent the next 18 years raising the royal in an isolated tower.
04:12 While keeping Rapunzel away from people was smart making the princess live so near the
04:17 kingdom was a bad move.
04:27 The royal is driven to explore the world because she's close enough to see the lanterns that
04:32 the king and queen let loose once a year.
04:35 To make matters worse Mother Gothel later revealed that she could have settled somewhere
04:39 else.
04:45 We definitely don't support her evil plans for Rapunzel.
04:48 However, we can't help but acknowledge the obvious flaw in her big scheme.
04:54 Number 6.
04:55 Shrek doesn't ask for details.
04:57 Shrek forever after.
05:12 Even ogres aren't immune from existential crises.
05:16 After Shrek starts a family and gets into a daily routine he begins to long for the
05:20 freedom of his old life.
05:22 He eventually gets a chance to have a carefree day when he meets the shady Rumpelstiltskin.
05:28 Shrek's new ally promises to give the hero 24 hours of freedom.
05:32 In exchange the ogre must give up a day from his past.
05:35 What about a day you wouldn't even remember?
05:36 Like a day when you were a baby.
05:37 An innocent, mindless, little baby.
05:38 Take any of those days you want.
05:39 Take them all for all I care.
05:40 Since Shrek glazes over the details Rumpelstiltskin is able to take the day the hero was born
05:41 and the day he was born.
05:42 Shrek's new ally promises to give the hero 24 hours of freedom.
05:43 In exchange the ogre must give up a day from his past.
05:44 What about a day you wouldn't even remember?
05:45 Like a day when you were a baby.
05:46 An innocent, mindless, little baby.
05:47 Since Shrek glazes over the details Rumpelstiltskin is able to take the day the hero was born
05:52 and the day he was born.
05:53 This act erases Shrek from existence.
05:55 The ogre's one job was to sacrifice an inconsequential day between his birth and the present time.
06:02 Unfortunately for Shrek his lazy approach to this deal nearly led to his total annihilation.
06:07 You took the day I was born.
06:10 No Shrek, you gave it to me.
06:13 Royals keep Elsa isolated.
06:16 Frozen.
06:17 When Princess Elsa was a child she unintentionally hurt her sister Anna with an icy blast.
06:23 Although a troll king is able to nurse the girl back to health he makes the entire situation
06:28 a lot worse.
06:29 She will be okay.
06:30 But she won't remember I have powers.
06:31 It's for the best.
06:32 Listen to me Elsa, your power will only grow.
06:40 The magical being shows the king and queen a frightening vision of Elsa's powers.
06:45 As a result they decide to isolate the princess from the entire world.
06:49 We'll reduce the staff.
06:51 We will limit her contact with people and keep her powers hidden from everyone.
06:58 Including Anna.
07:01 The choice to keep Elsa away from others causes her to get into the habit of suppressing her
07:06 emotions and when her feelings boil over she unintentionally traps her kingdom in a harsh
07:11 winter.
07:12 Elsa wouldn't have had to deal with a ton of heartache and snow if her parents didn't
07:17 listen to trolls.
07:19 4.
07:20 Maui steals the heart of Te Fiti, Moana.
07:32 One demigod's bad decision caused both humans and divine beings to suffer.
07:37 At the beginning of Moana Maui chooses to steal the heart of the nature goddess Te Fiti.
07:42 Shortly after committing this offense he's attacked by a volcanic creature and loses
07:47 the valuable item he stole.
07:49 And his magical fish hook and the heart of Te Fiti were lost to the sea.
07:57 Maui's death of the heart also has negative effects on the vegetation and wildlife of
08:01 multiple islands.
08:03 The demigod insists that he went through with his death to benefit humanity.
08:08 It almost sounded like you don't like me which is impossible because I got stuck here
08:12 for a thousand years trying to get the heart as a gift for you mortals so you could have
08:16 the power to create life itself.
08:19 However Maui should've known that stealing the heart of a nature goddess would have serious
08:25 consequences.
08:26 But not even a thousand year punishment is enough to convince the demigod he was wrong.
08:31 It's not until Maui travels with the human Moana that he sees how much damage he caused.
08:36 We're only here because you stole the heart in the first place.
08:42 No we're here because the ocean told you you're special and you believed it.
08:47 Number 3.
08:48 Goob trusts an evil robot.
08:50 Meet the Robinsons.
08:51 Then just as I was on the brink of destroying Robinson Industries I met her.
08:58 At a young age Michael Yagoobian fell asleep during a pivotal moment in a baseball game
09:04 because his genius roommate Louis kept him up.
09:06 The bitter ball player held onto that grudge until his adulthood.
09:10 So when a jilted robot Louis designed becomes hungry for revenge Yagoobian teams up with
09:16 the mechanical menace no questions asked.
09:19 It's ridiculously obvious that the robotic Doris is evil as soon as it tells its backstory.
09:25 But Doris knew she was capable of so much more.
09:33 However you didn't see her true potential.
09:36 Despite that fact Yagoobian helps the mechanical menace steal Louis's time machine and changes
09:42 history.
09:43 In the new timeline Doris rules over a terrifying and bleak world with an army of like minded
09:49 hats.
09:50 The bad future is thankfully reversed but Michael Yagoobian barely nearly plunged the
09:55 world into a permanent dystopia.
09:58 Doris what's happening?
09:59 I don't understand.
10:00 He just wanted to ruin his future not this.
10:03 Number 2.
10:04 Humans let the bees retire.
10:06 Bee movie.
10:07 Then we want to get back all the honey that was ours to begin with.
10:10 Every last drop.
10:11 Shortly after Barry B. Benson makes a compelling case in a court of law government officials
10:16 agree to return the honey back to the insects.
10:19 This arrangement allows the bees to stop working.
10:22 But this deal proves to be catastrophic.
10:25 Since the bees had all the honey they needed they stopped pollinating flowers.
10:29 This lead to and we're not kidding the death of nearly all flowers on earth.
10:34 They're all wilting.
10:35 Doesn't look very good does it?
10:39 No.
10:40 And whose fault do you think that is?
10:43 We're guessing that the humans in charge of this universe didn't check in with any
10:47 scientists beekeepers or kids who took a science class when they made this deal.
10:53 Any one of those groups could have pointed out that this deal would lead to global disaster.
10:59 So you take away the produce that affects the entire animal kingdom and then of course…
11:05 The human species?

11:22 Number 1.
11:23 Kingpin turns on the collider.
11:25 Again.
11:26 From Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse.
11:39 A grieving supervillain named Kingpin tried to get back the family he lost by finding
11:44 alternate versions of his wife and son in new dimensions.
11:47 This task could only be achieved if he used a dangerous collider machine.
11:51 During an early trial, multiple people warned him that the device could destroy Brooklyn.
11:56 But Kingpin keeps going until an explosion stops him in his track.
12:00 Even though the plant literally blew up in his face, the supervillain kept going.
12:10 Kingpin even continued his second major collider trial as reality unraveled around him.
12:16 If Miles Morales didn't swing in, the supervillain could have set off a chain reaction that destroyed
12:21 the multiverse.
12:22 It's safe to say that Kingpin is good at villainy and very bad at decision making.
12:36 Which animated adult had the worst plan?
