00:00 How do we comment on China-Malaysia relations?
00:16 Malaysia is the first ASEAN country to establish diplomatic relations with China.
00:22 It is a friendly neighbor of China and also a priority of China's neighborhood diplomacy.
00:28 The good relationship between China and Malaysia is always a front-runner in China's relations
00:35 with ASEAN countries.
00:38 The vision of building a global community with a shared future is highly aligned with
00:43 the Malaysia Madani proposed by Prime Minister Ang Wa.
00:48 In March this year, Prime Minister Ang Wa paid a successful visit to China.
00:54 During this visit, President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Ang Wa reached an important
00:59 consensus on building a China-Malaysia community with a shared future.
01:05 Prime Minister Ang Wa said clearly that Malaysia supports the vision of a global community
01:11 of shared future and the three global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping and Malaysia
01:18 is ready to work with China to deepen exchanges and dialogues between civilizations.
01:26 These are milestones in the history of China-Malaysia relations.
01:30 The two countries will work together to make deeper and more substantive progress towards
01:37 a China-Malaysia community with a shared future.
01:41 China's economic growth will continue to bring new benefits to countries across the world,
01:45 including Malaysia.
01:47 China looks forward to working together with all other countries, including Malaysia, to
01:53 expedite the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and build a global community of development.
02:01 South China Sea issue, some reporters are concerned about this issue.
02:06 China and ASEAN countries, including Malaysia, are separated only by a narrow strip of water.
02:13 The South China Sea is our common home.
02:16 We must maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea.
02:21 In 2002, China and ASEAN countries signed the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties
02:29 in the South China Sea, that is, DOC.
02:33 It's a common strategic concern for China and ASEAN countries to keep and maintain peace
02:40 and stability in the region.
02:43 Over the past several years, with joint efforts of China and ASEAN countries, the situation
02:49 on the sea has remained stable on the whole, which creates good environment for regional
02:55 countries' development, including China and Malaysia.
02:59 We must cherish the peace and stability and hold the future of South China Sea firmly
03:04 in our hands as masters of our own affairs.
03:09 Therefore, we should stay committed to the dual-track approach, properly manage maritime
03:15 differences through friendly consultations with the countries directly concerned, fully
03:22 and effectively implement the DOC, and accelerate consultations on the Code of Conduct in the
03:30 South China Sea, that is, COC, so as to provide a solid underpinning for peace and stability
03:38 in the South China Sea.
03:40 We are ready to work with all other countries, including Malaysia, to create an open, fair,
03:46 equitable and non-discriminatory environment for scientific and technological advances.
03:53 China stands ready to work together with the international community to translate the vision
03:59 of a global community of shared future into reality at an early date and build this planet
04:06 we all call home into a family of peace, unity and harmony.
04:16 Thank you.
04:17 (Applause.)
