00:00Thank you, Professor Hu-Ping, Ke-Wei-Lai-Ping, Cha-Chia-Hao,
00:05Professor Wong, faculty members, and students.
00:14Of course, it is a rare honor to be here at Beijing University,
00:21a beacon of China's intellectual life.
00:25From the cusp of the 20th century to the present,
00:29this institution has nurtured generations of leaders and visionaries,
00:35poets and dreamers, builders and innovators,
00:40people who have contributed to China's remarkable journey
00:45and inspired new possibilities for the future.
00:49As a Song Dynasty poet, Lu Yu wrote,
00:57this is the difficult part,
01:01山中水浮,一无路,柳儿花鸣游一瞬。
01:23After mountains and rivers that seem to have no end,
01:30there is a bright village amid the shade of willows and flowers.
01:38In choosing to establish relations with China,
01:42we moved past the seemingly unending mountains and rivers of ideological obstacles.
01:50We made a conscious choice to step beyond past prejudices and uncertainties.
01:57What we found, on the other hand, was a place of shared purpose and partnership.
02:04China's balanced approach to geopolitics and its advocacy for multilateralism
02:11highlights the value of stability, cooperation, and respect for sovereignty.
02:17President Xi's persistent call for extensive consultation
02:24and joint contribution for shared benefit
02:28embodies a vision of global governance rooted in fairness and collective progress.
02:37We and other global partners can therefore work together
02:42towards a world where prosperity, security, and peace are achieved
02:49not through dominance but through genuine partnership and respect.
