120 YEARS OF THE BORDER MAIL: What it means to our readers
Transcript
00:00 What does the Border Mail mean to you and what do you like about it?
00:02 It means a lot to me. I don't always buy it
00:07 Monday and Tuesday but I love to get it the rest of the week and particularly
00:12 Saturday
00:13 and I just find I've been here a long time. I'm interested in the local news
00:20 I'm interested in, you know, there's probably
00:24 quite a few people that I would know in the border
00:27 and what they're doing, different businesses they're opening up.
00:31 I have a delivered of the morning, so it's the first thing I pick up
00:34 and the first news I read of the day.
00:37 Most of the memories of when they did great editorials on sporting legends
00:43 in the industry I was in
00:46 that was always great. I used to have a little bit of an input if
00:51 somebody rang me from the Border Mail, one of the journos, I could fill them in on sport.
00:56 I like that I can generally find out what's going on in the area.
01:00 It's very local, I like that as well.
01:04 It's easy to read, it's easy to find
01:08 which sections are going to apply to my interest.
01:11 I learn a lot about the local community,
01:14 a lot of the local businesses, a lot of places
01:18 where to go. Sometimes I see people I've met or know
01:23 in there which is pretty cool and they've got a very
01:27 exhaustive sports section which I'm really interested in.
01:31 My nephew plays for Albury in the football so
01:35 there's just a lot of information, it's very interesting
01:39 and people really care about the community and everyone loves to read it
01:42 and it's a great paper.
