00:00 Hello and welcome to the WrestleTalk News, I'm Tempest and here's today's top story.

00:11 AEW President Tony Khan is known for being a completely level-headed individual, which

00:16 made it all the more shocking when he took to Twitter, pardon me, X, this week for an

00:20 extended tirade.

00:22 While most of his posts weren't anything more than trying to get some people riled

00:25 up, such as a picture of spray-painted text reading "Bald Asshole" (a picture I have

00:30 absolutely saved to my camera roll for when someone in this office pisses me off), some

00:34 got eyebrows raised within his own company, such as saying John Cena and The Undertaker

00:38 drew less than a million viewers for the first time ever.

00:42 In a new report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, SRS said, "We're told by several

00:47 within AEW they were surprised that Tony Khan's tweet about Undertaker and John Cena drawing

00:51 less than a million viewers ended up going out."

00:54 Sean then went on to say in his report that of the people Fightful had spoken to, there

00:58 wasn't any real concern over the posts, saying most of the reaction reflected that

01:03 of social media, either thinking he shouldn't have tweeted it at all, or thinking it was

01:07 him having fun with a situation that didn't favour him.

01:10 Another pointed out that right after the tweet, he announced a series of matches for next

01:14 week's Dynamite while people were on his profile.

01:17 And just for anybody wondering, it was further clarified that TK doesn't have to have his

01:21 tweets okayed by anyone, with Fightful reporting that, "From what we understand, Khan doesn't

01:27 clear his tweets with AEW PR for those asking."

01:30 Another source said that those who took issue with it should take a glance at the replies

01:34 that Tony Khan, Triple H, or any top wrestling executives get on any given day.

01:39 Or maybe don't do that.

01:40 Save yourself the headache of scouring Elon Musk's hellscape.

01:44 Sticking with All Elite Wrestling, we go in the ring to where there have been an awful

01:47 lot of title changes as of late, particularly with the International Championship.

01:52 After Orange Cassidy having defended that belt for nearly 11 months, there have now

01:56 been three title changes in the last five weeks.

01:59 Now we have a bit more insight as to what has been going on with that title.

02:03 Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported last night that Jon Moxley was never originally

02:08 slated to lose the AEW International title to Rey Fenix, but was sidelined with an injury

02:12 and an audible was called mid-match during their September bout.

02:16 However, there were tentative plans within All Elite Wrestling to get the title back

02:19 on Jon Moxley for the October 10th episode of AEW Dynamite.

02:23 The report then goes on to say that "Unfortunately, the day of the show, Jon Moxley was not cleared

02:28 and was replaced by Orange Cassidy.

02:31 Cassidy would go on to win the international title.

02:33 Although he wasn't considered for it in the days or weeks prior, we've learned that

02:37 likely whoever was going to be booked against Rey Fenix likely would have won the title."

02:41 We also found out the reasoning behind this title change in particular and why it had

02:46 to happen now.

02:47 As the report states, "According to sources close to him, Fenix is facing visa issues

02:51 that will have him out of action on AEW TV.

02:54 We aren't sure the length, but the decision was made to move the international title that

02:58 was never set to be on him in the first place.

03:00 Rey Fenix won the title at Dynamite Grand Slam and defended it against Jeff Jarrett

03:04 and Nick Jackson."

03:05 Man, I wish this book went behind the curtain and showed me all the fascinating aspects

03:13 of wrestling we fans don't get to see in the ring.

03:16 I know what Tempest is thinking.

03:18 He's thinking he wishes his book took a deep dive into some of wrestling's biggest controversies,

03:22 giving insight into the murkier side of the sport we know and love.

03:28 He's keen to know more about the ongoing controversy of unionization in wrestling, and his right

03:33 eye is even more keen to delve into the issues that have shaped the modern pro wrestling

03:41 Maybe he's wishing his book critiqued wrestling's institutions and was more of a testament to

03:46 those who fight not just inside the ring, but outside the ring too.

04:44 While WWE's reasoning for loading up Tuesday's NXT was very much to stick it to AEW and Tony

04:49 Khan, as Luke mentioned in yesterday's news, it obviously goes deeper than that.

04:53 I'm referring to, of course, the impending WWE media rights negotiations for both Raw

04:58 and NXT.

04:59 With SmackDown recently agreeing to a five-year deal with NBCUniversal's USA Network beginning

05:04 October 2024, attention now turns to the gold and red brands, with WWE clearly looking to

05:10 maximize both's worth ahead of negotiations.

05:13 But could part of that negotiation also mean the unthinkable happening, that being the

05:17 over 30-year tradition of Raw airing on a Monday night coming to an end?

05:21 Could we instead be looking at Tuesday Night Raw?

05:24 Or Thursday Night Raw?

05:25 Just doesn't sound right at all, does it?

05:27 Well according to Endeavor CEO and TKO Overlord Ari Emanuel, that could indeed be the case.

05:32 Speaking at the Bloomberg Screen Time Conference, Emanuel discussed the rights negotiations

05:36 for WWE and the UFC, noting the value of both brands due to the lack of an off-season, unlike

05:42 other sports, while also labeling Raw as the "number one package" available.

05:47 Emanuel cited WWE's flexibility as a massive selling point, before suggesting that their

05:52 programming, namely Raw, is not necessarily locked down to one particular night.

05:57 You want us Thursday night?

05:58 You want us Tuesday night?

06:00 I don't have any of those scheduling issues and that churn issue because we're the full

06:05 year.

06:06 Following up on this, WrestleVotes revealed on Twitter that the internal reaction to the

06:10 potential change for Raw is not a particularly favorable one.

06:14 Clearly we're not the only ones that don't like that change.

06:17 WrestleVotes noted, "Endeavor is definitely open to it, which they have stated.

06:21 I can say that from a backstage, off-camera standpoint, there are tons of people who want

06:25 Raw to continue on Mondays as is.

06:27 Time will tell."

06:31 Sticking with Emanuel at the Bloomberg Screen Time Conference, one other name that came

06:35 up while he was discussing the rights negotiations was none other than Vince McMahon himself.

06:40 Now with reports of McMahon being ousted from WWE's current creative setup and Endeavor

06:45 even knighting Triple H as the creative lead going forward, it's beginning to feel a

06:50 little bit like Vince's influence maybe isn't quite what it was.

06:53 While Emanuel was vocal about wanting McMahon on board as WWE's figurehead under their

06:58 side of the TKO umbrella, he did also reveal that the 78-year-old has in fact had a negative

07:03 influence on TKO's stock.

07:04 Listing the potential factors for TKO's stock falling after they announced SmackDown's

07:08 new NBC Universal deal, Emanuel referred again to Raw being the best package.

07:13 Also noting that the recent Saudi PIF investment in the Professional Fighters League could

07:18 have impacted the price.

07:19 But the third reason was in fact Vince's involvement.

07:22 Vince McMahon in our deal wanted to be able to pull at any point in time his stock.

07:27 He's 78 years old, he's been working at this for decades and decades, so I think those

07:32 three back to back issues.

07:34 Now the reason for this is McMahon's $3 billion shares in TKO being listed for sale,

07:39 which allows him to avoid any lock up period that would apply to other shareholders.

07:43 This allows TKO and McMahon flexibility when it comes to his role in the company, a move

07:48 likely done due to his past misconduct investigation and being served a federal grand jury subpoena

07:53 in July this year.

07:55 TKO had previously noted in a regulatory filing that McMahon exposes the company to

07:59 negative publicity and/or have other adverse financial and operational impacts on our business.

08:04 This all begs the question, how long McMahon will indeed last in this new look company

08:08 going forward?

08:09 He's also 78, and no amount of mustache dye can hide that.

08:12 While Vince has retired and unretired in the last year or so, another WWE star may be looking

08:17 to hang up her boots and gloves.

08:19 I'm talking about former UFC and WWE Champion Ronda Rousey, who despite being listed as

08:24 a RAW superstar on WWE.com at the present, looks ever increasingly unlikely to return

08:29 to a WWE ring.

08:31 And to be honest, she clearly seems to be enjoying her downtime sharing pictures of

08:34 herself, her daughter, husband Travis Brown, and friend and AEW star Marina Shafir on Instagram.

08:39 But she would also share a rather curious and not at all subtle quote from Disney Pixar's

08:44 movie Elemental of all things, seemingly spelling the end for her days in active competition,

08:48 saying "Sorry, I couldn't hear you through my retirement.

08:51 Bernie Luman, heart emoji, fire emoji."

08:54 While Rousey could just call it a day on her career in general, a confidant of Rousey had

08:58 recently told Daily Mail that she has an eye on a remarkable return to the UFC at their

09:02 landmark UFC 30 event, which is likely to arrive in Spring 2024.

09:07 So who knows really, and if you come back, try not to cost us Sasha Banks this time.

09:10 Sticking with stars unlikely to appear in a WWE ring again, AEW's shiniest new toy,

09:15 rated R superstar Adam Copeland, has shared some interesting backstage creative info into

09:20 one of his final contributions with WWE, that being the Judgment Day.

09:24 Yes, given the success of the Fantastic Four, Finn, Dom, Priest, and Rhea, it's hard to

09:28 even remember at times that it was all started as Edge's group.

09:31 While the Judgment Day have grown leaps and bounds since Edge was unceremoniously booted

09:35 from the equation, that's more down to Triple H's creative being far better than Vince's

09:39 than anything.

09:40 Regardless, one can't help but wonder what Edge's Judgment Day would have looked like

09:43 had he not been rather hastily removed.

09:46 Well wonder no more, as Copeland has revealed what the original plan was for the Judgment

09:50 Day in a recent appearance on Talk is Jericho.

09:53 Copeland revealed that the original plan still resulted in Finn Balor joining the group and

09:57 them all turning on him, however it was meant to come after a solid year as a collective

10:01 group, not a rush turn out of nowhere.

10:03 Copeland explained, "Well, then we get to hell in a cell and I was like, 'No, we're

10:08 changing everything.'

10:09 And we're speeding up that year-long process, and he's joining tomorrow and turning tomorrow.

10:14 It wasn't long, and it was just starting to get some legs."

10:17 Despite this, Copeland did admit that he felt the group weren't going to get to where

10:20 they needed to be with himself involved.

10:23 But it was still a bummer as he had just changed his entire look, cut his hair off, and according

10:28 to Copeland, bought 30 custom suits!

10:32 Sticking with scrapped WWE creative plans, we finish up today with some interesting comments

10:36 from a WWE star regarding a planned match with the late Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 39.

10:42 Prior to Wyatt's leave of absence due to his illness in the early spring, he seemed

10:46 to be gearing up for a Mania program with the almighty Bobby Lashley.

10:49 However, according to Karrion Kross, there was a time where a match between himself and

10:53 the former three-time world champion was in the cards.

10:56 Speaking in an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Kross revealed that despite not crossing paths

11:00 on WWE TV, the two shared a great friendship dating back to his time as Killer Kross, pre-WWE.

11:06 This then led to WrestleMania 39, and plans that would have not only involved himself

11:10 and Wyatt, but also Scarlett, Alexa Bliss, and Bo Dallas, aka Uncle Howdy.

11:15 Fast forward, we were supposed to work last WrestleMania.

11:18 Nobody knew that except for a collection of writers and some people in the office.

11:21 We were slated to do something.

11:23 We would talk for hours about how we wanted to get into it, what we wanted to deliver

11:27 creatively for people, where we thought we both needed to be.

11:31 Our condolences continue to go out to the family and friends of Wyndham Rotunda.
