The Sportsman 1710 PFX mixes excellent fit-and-finish with fishability. The model is compact, but its wide beam offers good stability, and its trim weight makes it easily trailerable with the family vehicle. See how it performed when we tested it in varying conditions.

00:00 Hi, I'm Randy Vance.
00:24 I'm on Table Rock Lake today and I'm in G3's brand new 1710 PFX.
00:30 Now this boat was originally designed for crappie masters, but the customers have found
00:35 it's a great boat for chasing bass and walleye too.
00:39 I want to walk you through this boat right now, but first let's have a little bit of
00:42 conversation about the performance.
00:44 The 1710 hull gives a nice ride and a stable platform for casting.
00:50 We like the 90 horsepower motor on it, it's very economical and it gives a great ride.
00:56 Now the 1710 comes in three configurations, standard, plus, and max.
01:01 We've got the plus configuration here which includes the 9 inch helix display and the
01:06 maximum trolling motor.
01:08 The max option comes with the Ultrex trolling motor and two 12 inch helix displays.
01:14 Now there's plenty of leg room at the helm and I like the extra wide bucket seats.
01:18 The center seat folds down and gives you a step to the aft deck and the seat bottoms
01:23 lift up and out to give you plenty of storage and easy access to it.
01:28 The tilt wheel gives you an optimum driving position and the throttle is in exactly the
01:33 right place.
01:34 Now as we mentioned, the boat was originally designed for crappie fishermen, which is why
01:39 we have three pedestal bases up here.
01:41 Two seats side by side are the ideal configuration for crappie fishing, but bass fishermen like
01:47 their single seat in the center.
01:49 You've got easy access to the maximum 12 volt trolling motor and it comes complete with
01:53 a foot pedal.
01:54 You've got a rod locker on the port side, a 19 gallon live well complete with a minnow
01:59 bucket underneath the fore deck, and there's plenty of storage in the step up to that deck.
02:06 In our test boat, the foot pedal is sitting on top of the anchor locker.
02:09 You have plenty of room for an ideal anchor, rope and chain.
02:15 Now I like how easy it is to move around in this boat.
02:18 It's very stable.
02:20 Once you're on the aft deck, you can see we're positioned here with a pedestal seat that
02:24 swivels.
02:25 You've got a 33 gallon live well right underneath it.
02:29 Plenty of room for bait or keeping your catch alive.
02:32 There's tackle storage on either side of that live well and easy access to the bilge area
02:37 behind.
02:39 Now the 1710PFX comes in several color combinations.
02:43 White charcoal, midnight blue, mossy oak shadow grass, and break up camo.
02:49 It's an ideal fishing boat or if you go for the camo, you can take it duck hunting as
02:53 well.
02:54 I'm Randy Vance on Table Rock Lake on G3's 1710PFX.
