00:00 Let's talk, Ayuk had a really nice catch and run on the final drive, sort of set the Niners
00:06 up for that game-winning touchdown, could have been one of the heroes of the game, but
00:09 they lost.
00:10 So we're not going to remember that.
00:11 What we're going to remember is his drops.
00:13 He had at least three.
00:15 Ones that hit him in both hands.
00:18 And he had such a good season up to now, and you're thinking this is his arrival.
00:24 This is when he comes out and establishes himself as a number one, not just a number
00:28 one receiver, but an elite receiver.
00:31 And today was his opportunity to do it because Debo went down, Christian McCaffrey went down.
00:36 This is your time to step up and be the reason the Niners won.
00:39 He almost was with that one play on the final drive.
00:41 He hasn't had moments like that in his career.
00:43 He's been productive, but not clutch.
00:46 And in this game, he was clutch, but not productive.
00:49 I mean, he had some drops that if he had caught, Purdy's numbers would have looked a lot better.
00:55 But frankly, elite, like even non-elite wide receivers make some of those catches he dropped,
01:00 but like elite ones make them all the time.
01:02 Tyreek Hill makes those catches.
01:04 Justin Jefferson makes that catch down the middle.
01:06 You know it's what I'm talking about.
01:09 So I don't know what it is with Brandon Aiyu.
01:11 Can you really go to him consistently as a number one guy?
01:16 Or is he more of a number two guy in terms of his mentality?
01:22 Does he want to be relied on?
01:24 When you have to rely on him, when you are relying on him, how does he respond?
01:30 In this game, not well.
01:32 Like it was a little too much, a little too much pressure.
01:34 I don't know.
01:35 Maybe I'm overanalyzing his psyche.
01:39 But I don't understand how all of a sudden he drops three passes in one game.
01:43 He'd been having such a good season.
01:45 Finally goes against some really good corners, make life tough on him.
01:48 And was he in his head?
01:50 I don't know.
01:52 But you come away from this game thinking, maybe Brandon Aiyu is an elite.
01:55 Maybe when he faces an elite corner, he's the one at a disadvantage.
02:04 Brandon.
02:05 Ten targets, four catches.
02:08 First good corners he faces.
02:10 He's been taking advantage of some weak ones.
02:11 Patrick Peterson, whoever the hell is on Arizona and Dallas, not now.
02:17 So we got to be a little bit more discerning with Brandon Aiyu.
02:21 Is he elite?
02:22 To me, the answer is not yet.
02:25 Not yet.
02:26 Maybe next week, but not this week.
02:29 The Dark Azrael says, do you think they should have ran one more play to get Moody closer
02:32 for an easier kick?
02:33 Yeah, sure.
02:34 But dude, it's a 41 yard kick and you blasted it wide right.
02:38 I mean, you kicked it as hard as you could, man.
02:42 There's no accuracy or touch or whatever.
02:44 I don't know what you want to call it.
02:45 And if 41 is too far for Jake Moody, please bring in Robbie Gold right now.
02:54 Mike V. Skate says, what was the biggest reason for this loss on this game?
02:58 Love the unbiased take on games.
02:59 Well, maybe Jake Moody missing two field goals, Brock Purdy playing his worst game of his
03:03 career and Kyle Shanahan not having his team really emotionally or schematically ready
03:07 to play the game.
03:08 I don't know.
03:11 (upbeat music)
