It is exactly 100 years since Walt Disney founded his famous film studio, but what is less well-known is that a Lincolnshire village has been honoured in every Disney film since 2006, given its links to the company's founder. 00:00 Walt Disney realised and heard of this place in England, in Lincolnshire, called Northern Disney.
00:07 And they were over here for other purposes, including the holiday, and decided to call by.
00:13 It's still a very small village, only about 240 people.
00:17 And so they spent quite a time here, talking to people, but also significantly did quite a good colour film,
00:26 which is now available for other people to see, but it's otherwise kept on the Disney Archive in San Francisco.
00:33 With the Norman Conquest, the Isneys came over with William the Conqueror, and they settled here.
00:42 This was their village. This was Disney village, Disneyland.
00:47 When Walt Disney came in 1949, he came in the church to look for his ancestors,
00:54 and he saw this crest, this crest for the Disneys, and he really liked it.
01:01 And he then, later, decided that it was going to be part of all his opening credits for his films.
