'VEVO-lied', our 60's Grammar School Song, original composition by Mr. Cor de Man, our School Music Teacher (later Professor at Tilburg Conservatory), Alphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands.

Nostalgic musical memory of our early '60's Grammar School Days, sung innumerable times at school festival evenings, functions, and other pupil-centered gatherings. Now played by head many decades later, trying to respect the "broad" accompaniment from those days. Original melody by Mr. Cor de Man, our school music teacher, lyrics by Ms. Gerda Casimir, our Greek and Latin teacher. The concept of our "Lyceum" turned out to reflect the many ideas by Dr. Casimir senior, a Professor of Pedagogy: to combine earnest learning with all kinds of creativity at school. For us, it was a privilege to be part of it. Those six years guaranteed endless fascination and a teenage period without major problems.

"V.E.V.O." stood for "Van En Voor Ons" (Ours And For Us), the name of the association (founded in 1952) of and for all pupils of the Alphen aan den Rijn Lyceum.
