00:00 I'm Lawrence Crick, I'm chairman of the Showmen's Guild London section and I'm the, call me
00:06 the boss for the day.
00:07 It's a major part of the history of this town, it's something that, it's not the showmen's
00:12 fair, it's the people of Chittister's fair and it's something that should long continue.
00:16 I'd like to think it was here long before us and it'll be here long after we're gone.
00:20 So we're really excited, let the crowds come so we can perform and do what we do and light
00:26 the skies up with our beautiful lights and sounds of the ride so yeah, I'm really looking
00:32 forward to it, gonna be a bang.
00:33 I'm Jason Main, member of the Showmen's Guild and also a steward of this fair and today
00:39 to help the chairman assist with the orderly running of the fair and make sure all the
00:43 rides are in the right positions and everything runs smoothly for the public.
00:48 We've come back after the lockdown from Covid, we've had a good attendance in the last previous
00:53 two years that we've come back after the lockdown, we're hoping to have a good attendance today.
00:57 The weather's now on our side, there was a yellow weather warning, we thought it was
01:01 gonna have a complete blowout and the fair not be able to have any crowds come because
01:06 of the weather was gonna be atrocious.
01:08 We've got the sun coming down, looking forward to see a good turnout and hope people come
01:12 and enjoy the fair and enjoy all the rides that we're putting on.
01:15 I would say this is a highlight of Chittister, the local community.
