00:00 Three batches of Filipinos from Israel have arrived.
00:04 We got an update from Louisa Erizpe.
00:07 Live, Louisa.
00:09 I'm here at Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
00:15 We just witnessed the arrival of overseas Filipino workers
00:20 who came here from Sigalot, Israel.
00:23 Last Thursday afternoon, 25 Filipinos and one Filipino from Israel arrived in the Philippines.
00:33 This is the third group of Filipinos helped by the government to return from the chaos in the country.
00:39 According to the Department of Migrant Workers,
00:41 Filipinos from different places in Israel arrived today.
00:45 But 16 of them are domestic workers and the others are hotel aides.
00:50 Teresita and Gerald told us what they experienced in Israel.
00:55 They are still traumatized and scared because of the chaos in the country.
01:01 We saw the news that many are dying.
01:04 It's pitiful. There are Filipinos and other races.
01:08 There are other races who are already suffering because they don't have a choice
01:13 to go to the children's hospital, to the elderly's hospital.
01:15 They don't have a choice. They are all sick.
01:18 It's pitiful. But at least we are there. We are just hiding there.
01:22 I heard the red alert.
01:25 I asked them, "What's your cell phone? It's so loud. What's your ringtone? It's scary."
01:31 Then there were many alerts.
01:35 Then I saw that there were many bombs coming in.
01:41 So after a few minutes, the whole of Tel Aviv sirened.
01:47 We need to hide ourselves.
01:49 From that day on, almost every day, we don't have peace of mind.
01:57 Because wherever you are in Israel, from time to time, you will hear the siren.
02:03 Each of them, to be able to go home to the Philippines,
02:07 like the previous groups, will receive assistance worth P135,000.
02:13 P50,000 from OWA and DMW, P20,000 from DSWD as cash assistance and food subsidy,
02:20 and P15,000 as livelihood assistance.
02:23 OWA will also help to send OFWs to their provinces.
02:28 According to DMW, it is expected that in the next few days,
02:32 it is possible that more Filipinos will return from Israel
02:36 because only 120 said that they want to return to the Philippines.
02:42 The Filipinos who are having a hard time crossing the border of Gaza and Egypt,
02:47 the Department of Foreign Affairs is still negotiating to help them cross.
02:53 But now, DMW is ensuring that they are safe and in a good place.
02:58 Meanwhile, Clazel has now raised the country's Lebanon to Alert Level 3,
03:03 still being shaken by Israel and Hamas.
03:07 The Department of Migrant Workers confirmed that there are already hundreds of Filipinos
03:11 who are affected by the country's situation.
03:14 Because of this, the task force was formed,
03:17 which is the reminder to Filipinos in Lebanon.
03:20 We established a task force where there is a link to our negotiations with our fellow Filipinos in Lebanon.
03:30 Our government is ready to provide assistance.
03:37 We are ready to repatriate them. There are evacuation routes and we will follow them.
03:44 We will provide the means and the processes to our fellow Filipinos so that everything will be fine.
03:51 Just like what is being done in Israel,
03:53 the government is also trying to voluntarily allow Filipinos to return to Lebanon.
03:58 It is not yet clear how many Filipinos will return or when.
04:02 But DMW is ensuring that all Filipinos in the country are safe.
04:08 They will be receiving assistance from the Philippines Embassy in Beirut for 24 hours tomorrow.
04:17 Aside from cash assistance, Clazel will also receive psychosocial assistance from OFWs who returned from Israel.
04:24 According to DMW, some of them are still experiencing trauma in their eyes.
04:31 Others were not allowed to touch the camera because some of them are still afraid of the bright light
04:40 because of the trauma they experienced in Israel.
04:44 This is the latest from IA. I will return to you, Clazel.
04:47 Thank you very much, Louisa Herispe.
