00:12 How do you feel about the 20s effort out there today?
00:15 >> Super, super thrilled about the effort that the team put forward.
00:18 That never give up attitude.
00:19 Even last year they showed it going into the round of 12 with a must win at Charlotte road
00:24 course.
00:25 And then same thing at martinsville.
00:26 The mechanics, the engineers, Adam Stevens, the crew chief, the people who work on this
00:30 car never, ever give up.
00:33 And I'll tell you, it was coming to the end of the second stage, I was probably half a
00:37 straight away from getting lapped, running like 54th at homestead.
00:41 I'm like, I don't know what's going to happen.
00:43 And fortunately we caught a really, really good break whenever the yellow flag came out
00:47 in the middle of the cycle in stage three.
00:49 That gave us a chunk of track position.
00:51 And Adam and the boys made great adjustments.
00:53 And it worked out.
00:55 >> We heard you on the radio, a little frustration about the adjustment that was made in stage
00:59 two.
01:00 But last week in Vegas, you guys said that you felt like that was your shot and you missed
01:04 it.
01:05 Was this a rally win for you and your crew this week?
01:08 >> It's a big one for sure.
01:10 But this track, there's no secret that this track has not been one of my favorites.
01:15 And then at the beginning of the race, I felt like we hit on something.
01:18 Because I was able to pass cars, move forward.
01:21 And then there was a chunk of them that were coming back to me at the end of the first
01:25 stage.
01:26 And I felt like, oh, man, we're on to something.
01:28 We can do this.
01:29 And then I don't know what happened.
01:30 But we completely lost the handle of it whenever we started stage two.
01:33 So definitely let my emotions get to me.
01:36 And fortunately I've got the best people behind me that were able to keep me calm.
01:39 Stevie on the roof, man, he does a great job driver coaching me and making sure that I
01:43 stay levelheaded.
01:44 And Adam Stevens never gave up on the pit box.
01:47 >> We'll look at martinsville next week.
01:49 I know you'll attack a win there as well.
01:51 But now you get a week extra to prepare for Phoenix than you got in 2022.
01:55 Adam Stevens, how dangerous are you and this crew going to be come Phoenix?
01:59 >> I feel good about it.
02:01 It's going to be so nice to have an extra week to focus on Phoenix and know what the
02:04 plan is.
02:05 I remember last year my parents went out to Phoenix.
02:08 I didn't even book their flights until Monday or Tuesday because we were out until the race
02:12 on Sunday.
02:13 So a lot more time to prepare.
02:16 And definitely being in the position again, you're always better off more prepared.
