Cransley Hospice founder Rev Dr John Smith explains future plans for Cransley Hospice in Kettering
Transcript
00:00 25 years ago I founded Cransley Hospice.
00:04 25 years ago Cransley didn't exist.
00:08 For some time now we've had the worry and the fear
00:12 that Cransley might move away from this end of the county
00:16 or even not exist.
00:19 But today we can say that Cransley has a future.
00:24 Not just for the next 25 years
00:27 but for many, many generations
00:30 where we will be able to care for people in their last year of life
00:36 and care well.
00:38 So we're delighted to say that Cransley Hospice is going to stay here
00:43 at Pipers Hill Road.
00:45 We are delighted that we've been able to reach an understanding
00:51 with our partners.
00:53 It's taken a little while for us to work with all of our partners
00:56 but we are absolutely delighted that we have reached this momentous understanding
01:03 and it's going to be here for the next 25 years, caring for many more.
01:07 Really excited as well today that we're able to announce
01:10 that Cransley Hospice Trust will be supporting the hospice staying here
01:14 with substantial investment for the future, bringing the hospice up to date
01:19 so that we're able to care for the community and for people in the hospice for the future.
01:25 Absolutely delighted.
01:27 Not just for ourselves, we're the least informed people
01:30 but for the community that we have cared for
01:34 and will care for in the future.
