00:00 My name's Carla, I'll be addressing Mid Coast Council today in objection to the closure of Cranback Community Pool.
00:06 Our pool was funded by the community to provide a safe swimming space for our children.
00:12 One of our children died in a dam in 1988 and the community went to great lengths to fundraise to set up this pool.
00:23 We have been given zero notification of the closure, which is apparently a mandatory closure,
00:29 and we have not been given any public consultation, we have not been given any alternatives or management procedures that we can follow.
00:38 We are gutted, we are angry that a council that is supposed to represent the people has given our tiny little beautiful community zero consultation.
00:52 So we are hoping for some sensibility and some consultation.
