00:00 >> Progress, yeah, no quick fixes for where we're headed.
00:03 Just a lot of the same conversations, hate to sound like a broken record, but
00:07 fundamental execution, I thought the backs ran harder this week.
00:12 We had some opportunities there.
00:13 And again, just kind of getting grouped in the system, better on third down, so
00:19 that gave us a few more opportunities.
00:21 And I think what you guys saw is just kind of an attempt there to create some
00:25 yards through the pass game, quick rhythm stuff.
00:28 That came alive for us pretty good.
00:30 But again, still would love to just be able to run the ball with consistency and
00:34 do that.
00:35 And maybe that's me just being able to call more of those runs in different
00:38 situations.
00:39 Yeah, definitely gotta be better.
00:41 >> The red zone situation is just kicking you right now.
00:45 >> Yeah. >> You had a first and
00:46 goal at the eight, trying to win a game.
00:47 >> Yeah. >> Three straight passes.
00:49 If you could have more confidence in the run game there,
00:51 are you calling those plays?
00:53 Is the lack of the run game affecting your red zone right now?
00:57 >> For me, yes, but the way I see it is best opportunity to score.
01:02 Where's Mike and Chris at?
01:03 Trying to attack coverages.
01:05 And we had plays designed to attack those,
01:08 some near misses down there on both red zone opportunities.
01:11 So really, again, it's just details in our route running,
01:15 details in our throws and our reads.
01:17 The last drive there, we got pressured a little bit.
01:20 And Filer was fighting through something there.
01:24 He stayed in there.
01:25 What a stud to give us a chance to do that right there.
01:28 So really appreciate him for that.
01:29 But yeah, just the red zone production.
01:32 We gotta figure that out.
01:34 And just do more things that complement the quarterback skill set and
01:37 those types of things.
01:38 >> Dave, with the struggles in the running game,
01:40 I'm not sure if Seattle did this or not.
01:42 But Goody and Gilbert here, in years past, 2020, 2021,
01:47 when they needed to get the running game going,
01:49 they would substitute an extra offensive lineman in a tight end for the tight ends.
01:54 And I don't think you're getting the run blocking that you need from the tight
01:57 end position.
01:58 Is that a consideration for you to look at using an extra offensive lineman to get
02:03 some more beef to help- >> Yeah, heavy.
02:05 Yeah, heavy, going heavy is a good option that teams use at times.
02:09 I think the style of runs that we're getting,
02:11 our tight ends are doing what they're supposed to do.
02:13 They're getting guys covered up.
02:14 And we're not expecting Cade or Coe or
02:17 Payne to really be those big mauler types of tight ends.
02:20 I think there's only maybe a couple, a handful in the league,
02:24 that you can really talk about.
02:25 So the run schemes are really designed for them to just cover it up so
02:28 the backs can read it and create space.
02:31 But I think it's across the board.
02:32 It's me, the rhythm and flow of when to call those runs,
02:36 the styles of runs that we're calling.
02:38 And then it's the guys just continuing to improve fundamental skills.
02:43 And then also just the finish, the attitude and
02:45 the finish that we're looking for going forward.
02:48 >> They have to have six points against Detroit to have 13 on Sunday.
02:51 >> Yeah. >> Could some of that just be that
02:53 the league now has six games of your offense on tape?
02:56 And teams are able to maybe anticipate what's coming better,
03:00 as is with any new coordinator, new offense?
03:02 >> Looking at the film, I feel like it just comes down to execution.
03:05 I think it's timing and rhythm.
03:08 I think it's learning the guys that we're throwing to and being on time and
03:11 accurate with some of the things.
03:12 I think we're leaving some good yards out there.
03:15 And at the same time, I'm learning.
03:17 I'm still growing and learning the rhythms of when to take those shots.
03:21 And what are they expecting?
03:24 Are they gonna just punch out and
03:25 play this really soft zone where we're trying to take shots?
03:28 So being able to grow that way.
03:29 But again, I think it's just overall improvement.
03:33 Yes, defenses are gonna have more and more information.
03:37 I feel like our schemes are working.
03:38 The players feel the same way.
03:40 They feel still really excited about what we're doing.
03:42 And they've been really accountable about just finishing plays and
03:46 making those opportunities, making the most of them.
