00:00 on the injury report with him, and we know he's had a couple other
00:03 [INAUDIBLE] along the way, how are you feeling in general?
00:06 >> Yeah, I mean, yesterday was pretty sore, less than 24 hours after the game,
00:10 it's kinda how it always goes.
00:12 Yeah, I just kinda re-aggravated what I did against the Saints.
00:15 So nothing too bad, just pain tolerance and move on.
00:21 >> You've had these Thursday games before, it's even trickier with a road game.
00:24 Is there a key that you found in terms of compacting your week into three days less
00:28 and still doing what you need to do?
00:30 >> Yeah, for us, it's kinda the same thing that we've been talking about,
00:34 how to have more success on offense.
00:36 So the short week for us is all about communicating, being on the same page.
00:40 And with a defense like they present, they got a lot of pressure looks,
00:44 good players, veteran guys that have a lot of experience.
00:46 So we need to be on the same page, so that's kinda the motto when a short week
00:50 comes, and just making sure that the over-communication part is not left.
00:54 >> Major, generally speaking, when you went back and
00:56 watched the film from the game, what were some of your takeaways?
00:59 >> Yeah, a few plays I'd like to have back, but we're just so close.
01:05 And I'm getting tired of saying that, but it's the truth when you go back and
01:09 watch it.
01:09 It's one play here or there that's gonna make the difference in us keeping drive
01:13 sustained, or the big plays over the top to get those explosive plays.
01:18 So we're close, way too many penalties.
01:20 That's really what stuck out when re-watching the film.
01:24 Like I mentioned after the game, but when you re-watch it,
01:26 it really did kill drives and take away some good plays.
01:29 >> I agree that there are lots of teams that are struggling in the red zone right
01:31 now, and a tight space.
01:33 For you, when you think about tight quarters like that,
01:36 what do you think are the most important things to get more touchdowns and
01:39 less field goals, less missed?
01:41 >> As we take a little bit of a step back and look at it, just getting completions.
01:47 Kind of their third down recipe,
01:48 giving the guys the ball in their hands, let them break tackles.
01:52 And so I think just too many incompletions down there, and
01:54 obviously running the ball is gonna help keep defenses balanced.
01:58 So yeah, finding completions.
02:00 >> So that was a fine line, I mean, you're trying that stick throw for a touchdown.
02:06 And even Dave said, they want you guys to be aggressive, right?
02:09 So as quarterback, you have to walk that almost every play, right?
02:13 >> Yeah, especially in the red zone, you try and
02:16 drop these plays that get guys' eyes in the wrong spots.
02:19 You get a touchdown or a one-on-one throw.
02:20 But they get paid too, so if it's covered, move on.
02:24 And like I said, find completions and good things will happen.
02:27 >> Do you think your experience, Baker,
02:29 at this point, what has happened, where you are,
02:32 you had a little bit of adversity, a couple of losses here,
02:36 struggling a little bit to put points on the board.
02:39 Do you think that that has helped you where you are right now?
02:42 >> Absolutely, I think any of those experiences,
02:45 you learn how to weather some of these storms.
02:47 And you learn how to grow through them and
02:50 handle them when certain situations come.
02:52 So right now, it's, like you keep mentioning, just get our stuff fixed,
02:56 be more detailed, fundamentally sound, and good things will happen.
03:00 Cuz when you rewatch the losses, we've played good teams, but
03:05 we haven't played our best.
03:06 And so for us, it's about us playing our best ball and
03:08 focusing on what we can control.
03:09 And that's being fundamentally sound and doing our jobs.
03:12 >> Short week, you gotta travel.
03:14 How do you squeeze four days of preparation into two?
03:17 >> A lot of mental work.
03:18 You never really get physically ready for these Thursday night games.
03:21 But it's a lot of mental work during the week.
03:24 And just, like I mentioned earlier, over communicating,
03:27 making sure we're on the same page.
03:28 And just that preparation really never stops until game time.
03:31 You get enough walkthroughs in where you talk about pretty much every single look
03:34 you might get.
03:35 Cuz most of the time, you're not gonna see anything new on a short week from them
03:38 as well.
03:39 So just making sure we're on the same page, communicate a lot.
