00:00 Hello, I'm Dide. I'm the creative director of GANY.
00:03 We're here in Copenhagen, in our home.
00:06 The house is from 1865,
00:13 and it was really important for us that we respected that
00:17 and that we took that into every consideration when we do something.
00:22 This is actually one of my favourite, I think the whole family's favourite rooms.
00:29 It's a noir arrangerie, an extension of the kitchen.
00:34 And this is where we spend most of our time.
00:36 When we redid the house, we really wanted it to be a place where you felt welcome.
00:42 You can see that there are kids, you know, and that it's okay,
00:46 that you're just having fun and enjoying yourself.
00:48 And I think that is the most important thing about a home.
00:52 I hope that people feel, when they're entering our house,
00:55 that they, you know, you can relax and just be yourself and have a good time.
01:00 When we created the kitchen, it was super important that it was functional.
01:09 And we knew from the beginning that we wanted this very classic
01:14 Copenhagen shaker kitchen, the look of it.
01:17 When you're from Denmark, I think one of the most important things
01:21 is open-faced sandwiches.
01:24 It's with the rye bread.
01:27 This is one of my favourites from Svanneke Bakery.
01:32 And it's delicious.
01:35 Here we are in our bedroom.
01:50 It's one of my favourite rooms.
01:52 It was really important for us that we tried to create this super light,
01:59 comforting, super welcoming room.
02:01 So we opened up the ceiling to create a more spacious feeling.
02:05 And as you can see, it's in a way very ganyfied.
02:08 I collected these patchwork textiles for many years
02:13 and paired it with a classic stripe
02:16 and also some curtains with a flower print.
02:20 I'm going to show you one of some of my favourite pieces.
02:26 If I should pick a style that really defines my style,
02:29 it could be this dress.
02:32 I always, at Gany, we always work with contrast,
02:35 and I think this is a really good example.
02:38 It is a super feminine flower print
02:41 paired with these black ribbons that create that contrast.
02:46 I would probably wear it with that no-makeup, no-makeup kind of look
02:52 and with a pair of sneaks or just some flats.
02:55 I always collected vintages since I was a teenager.
02:59 And this is one of my favourite pieces.
03:02 It's a Celine suede vest.
03:04 And then this is a funny story, actually.
03:06 It's a Chanel vintage bag.
03:09 I bought it at Vestia, and actually I really thought that I made a bargain.
03:14 The price was so good, but I didn't notice the measurements.
03:18 So when I received the packet,
03:21 I was a little bit disappointed that it was actually a Barbie size.
03:25 A fashion no-no for me is for sure trying to be someone that you're not.
03:30 I think people can see that.
03:32 I have a very soft spot for jewellery.
03:39 I have a lot of favourite jewellery designers.
03:44 One of them is Sophie Billebrat.
03:47 She actually did me and Nikolaj's engagement ring 20 years ago.
03:52 And this is one of my favourites.
03:54 It says, "Nikolaj did it." I really love this one.
03:59 This one is called Nadja Shalbaya.
04:01 She's actually my next-door neighbour and one of my good friends.
04:05 She's very talented.
04:06 And the last one here is René La Carta.
04:09 We did this pendant together last season,
04:13 where we... A version of our butterfly.
04:16 And I wear this almost every day.
04:19 So here we are in our bathroom.
04:29 And I'll just show you some of my beauty secrets.
04:33 This one is actually my favourite cleanser.
04:36 It's from a brand called Honey.
04:38 It's two Danish super sweet girls that created this beauty brand together.
04:44 They have a few, but very good products.
04:46 I would recommend this if you look super tired.
04:51 This Creme Pigment 400 gives you a little bit of a very nice glow.
04:57 My best beauty advice would be, "Less is more."
05:03 Now we're here at our office.
05:08 It actually also works as a place where we watch TV together
05:12 with the rest of the family.
05:15 When I entered GANY, I had been working as a buyer for many years.
05:19 People that I was inspired by,
05:22 I couldn't really recognise them in the Scandinavian brands
05:26 that came out of Scandinavia at that time, or Denmark at least.
05:31 So it was either very androgynous or very romantic, bohemian.
05:36 And I just kind of felt like there was something missing out there.
05:40 When we took over GANY, there were two, two and a half employees.
05:44 And we kind of just started.
05:46 In a way, it's the same way as we work today.
05:49 It's all about what feels right. That is kind of the core of GANY.
05:53 I always, always enjoyed, ever since I was a small kid, to read.
05:57 When I read, I forget about everything.
06:00 All the issues at the office, or problems in life, or whatever.
06:05 So that's something I really enjoy.
06:08 One of my favourite authors, she was actually...
06:13 I remember when I was a teenager and I read Tore Didler's Lesson for the first time.
06:18 Childhood and youth, and actually, poison.
06:21 But that means married life.
06:24 And these, I'm very, very, very fond of.
06:30 It's from a friend called Lauren.
06:32 She's a girl I met through GANY.
06:36 She's a professional ballet dancer.
06:38 She gave me these, and I really treasure them. They're so tiny and beautiful.
06:42 Here we are in the living room. It was one of the rooms we fell in love with
06:51 the first time we saw the house the most.
06:54 But maybe because of the fire here.
07:01 And here, these photos are from Kasper Seiersen.
07:07 He's a Danish photographer, who has done some amazing work.
07:12 He's very talented, and he's one of those that we're very proud of here in Denmark.
07:18 So, voilà.
