Lidl Italia presenta III report sostenibilità: più responsabilità su pianeta e persone

(Adnkronos) - Si è tenuto a Milano l’evento “Sulla via del domani: guidare il cambiamento verso consumi sostenibili”, durante il quale Lidl Italia, leader nella Gdo con oltre 730 punti vendita in Italia, ha diffuso i dati del suo terzo report di sostenibilità, incentrato sul pianeta e sulle persone, ed ha illustrato la nuova strategia Esg (ambientale, sociale e governance), tre criteri fondamentali per la valutazione della sostenibilità e dell’etica sociale di un’azienda.

00:09 This is the point of view on the sustainability of the President of Lidl Italy, Massimiliano Silvestri,
00:14 who intervened on the occasion of the event "On the Way of Tomorrow - Driving Change Towards Sustainable Consumption",
00:19 with which the national leader company of the large distribution organization
00:23 has shared the results of its third sustainability report and illustrated the new sustainability strategy,
00:28 an assumption of responsibility towards the planet and people.
00:32 We focus on our three main assets, assortment, infrastructure and people.
00:38 I speak for example of the development of raw materials, resources and product innovation.
00:46 Part of what concerns infrastructure, therefore, sustainable construction,
00:50 all the themes of photovoltaics, green energy, transportation decarbonization
00:54 and, of course, the most important part, the staff.
00:59 We start today by communicating our commitments to future generations,
01:04 with training programs, work-schools, ITS,
01:07 the stabilization of work contracts, the employment of 2,000 people per year,
01:11 in short, a whole series of activities that, even in a macroeconomic moment, are not easy as this,
01:16 but for us they always represent fundamental points.
01:19 Through the Italian agricultural supply chain project,
01:21 Italian farmers associated with ColDiretti have been collaborating with Lidl since 2018
01:25 to make citizens have products where the principle of sustainability is laid down to the ground with concreteness.
01:30 Sustainability is not only using less input to have the same output,
01:36 therefore it is not only environmental sustainability,
01:38 sustainability is also a social sustainability,
01:41 therefore an equal distribution of value within the industry.
01:45 Another successful partnership is the one initiated by Lidl with Fairtrade,
01:48 committed to the protection of human rights.
01:51 Lidl is certainly one of our main partners, both at the Italian and international level,
01:57 and this is achieved through products that are on sale,
02:02 which are easily accessible to consumers,
02:05 and through their purchase they improve the living conditions of farmers
02:11 in Asia, Africa, Latin America.
