00:02 I didn't give it a chance at first because it's annoying that Pinky and Brain are singing.
00:06 But it's got to be better than the Sabrina Animated Series.
00:09 They're in a made-up pork country where somehow everyone goes through the trouble of singing all the time.
00:15 Brain thinks he could get rich because he has a secret to making cheese without cream when the cattle are on strike somehow.
00:23 He could just say there aren't any cattle.
00:26 Pinky gets worried about the appeal of cheese without dairy.
00:30 It appealed to vegans, but that's too small a demographic.
00:34 But somehow Brain doesn't know this and just says nobody would care if it's ghastly if it's called low-fat.
00:41 Brain somehow thinks that if he gives hungry people some cheese, they'll make him their lord.
00:47 Even though there's already a leader in place who'd object.
00:50 So as usual, his plan's stupid.
00:52 Although it's at least a good plan in the moral sense.
00:56 It's interesting that he plans to merely pretend to be a lab mouse.
00:59 What's the point of establishing that six weeks later?
01:03 It's interesting that it's illegal to wear blue in this country.
01:07 He says the color doesn't stick around, so it's gone next panel.
01:12 And he says his cheese sucks.
01:14 Pinky says he made it into Play-Doh, so he says they need more sawdust.
01:19 Because if they ruled the wood industries, they could make tons of fake cheese from trees.
01:25 First off, nobody would hire them because they're uneducated mice.
01:28 And second, they could just use this technology to cut down trees and take them without getting jobs first.
01:35 All of the wood products are owned by the dictator.
01:39 But Brain says he's got a weakness for short women.
01:42 The story would be ruined if he actually was attracted to one of them.
01:47 Pinky says he just learned to sew.
01:50 So he makes him a dress.
01:53 The story's already sort of contrived because they made the dictator right away since he came here to use the toilet.
01:59 It's not unforgivably forced, because it makes sense.
02:04 But it's just unlikely that he's here.
02:06 What is forced is him flirting with Brain.
02:10 Even though he's really short.
02:12 And nobody would think he's a girl.
02:14 It'd be better to just establish that Brain used a hypnotic ray on him.
02:20 So at least the plot could be rewritten to make sense easily.
02:24 The dictator's fine with Brain saying that he'll rob the country blind.
02:28 Why are the people of the country cheering for Brain if all he did so far that they know about is get picked to be the evil dictator's girlfriend?
02:38 And they look sincere about it, not like they're being forced to.
02:41 Brain sees everyone wearing an outfit like his.
02:46 So he demands a new outfit and hates the smell of the hat made with his fake cheese.
02:51 So he turns it down.
02:53 I wonder if it'll be important.
02:55 His announcement is met with apathy because they only care about his dress.
03:00 The dictator proves he doesn't care about his people.
03:04 And conveniently, he loves him so much that he doesn't care that he's insulting him behind his back.
03:13 Not to mention, if he's talking behind his back, he wouldn't be talking in a falsetto way to pretend that he's a girl.
03:21 So he knows that he isn't a girl and doesn't care.
03:24 Later, Brain gets put on TV with someone to discuss matters of the state because I guess the dictator's busy.
03:31 All the woman wants to know about is his clothes because all they know him for is that.
03:38 Even though we were just told they were here to discuss matters of the state.
03:43 Brain gets shown photos of himself by Pinky afterwards and realizes that he somehow took over the world of fashion.
03:51 This kind of nonsensical writing is consistent enough that this is the least consistently good comic I've read.
03:59 Aside from the 2000's Sabrina comic.
04:02 Just taking Pinky and the Brain stories into account.
04:05 Nothing about the story makes sense.
04:07 Speaking of that, why is he turning blue when he hasn't been back at the lab to be exposed to the stuff that'd make him that way again?
04:14 I figure it's been some time since then.
04:17 So this would be a lame way to ruin his plan, even if it is foreshadowed.
04:22 If you foreshadow something too much, then I don't want it to be what ruins the plan.
04:27 Six months later, Brain assumes his approval ratings are gone because of his absence.
04:33 Even though reporters said a tearful crowd is waiting for him to come back.
04:38 An absence makes the heart grow fonder.
04:40 He plans to hide his looks with a veil and again refuses to hint.
04:45 Out of nowhere, Brain gets replaced by another ridiculously short person who has no excuse for existing.
04:53 And out of nowhere, he's allergic to clover.
04:57 Enough to sneeze and lose his veil.
05:00 He says he still has a plan to feed the hungry and gets told that it was already solved and then some.
05:07 Because everyone's been eating the cheese hunts.
05:10 Even though we were told they were inedible.
05:13 I assume they're just that hungry.
05:15 So the story was worth it because Pinky fed the hungry.
05:19 What was the point of Brain being seen looking blue by the dictator if he was going to go right back to being happy?
05:26 And Brain shouldn't be mad at him because all he did was prove that feeding the hungry wouldn't make him be elected as the leader.
05:32 Because it didn't happen to Pinky.
05:35 So no wonder he stops being mad at him right away.
05:38 So this story by Joe Edkin with nonsensical plot progression is about Brain wanting to feed the hungry.
05:47 Because he thinks that'll make him get elected their dictator somehow.
05:51 Somehow the dictator takes him on as his girlfriend.
05:55 When he could have had this be justified if he used the shape-shifting Wren himself.
06:01 And this puts him in the limelight so that Pinky can make his cheese into hats as he's taking over the fashion world.
06:08 And the whole story ends up being worth it because everyone became well fed eating the cheese hunts.
06:14 As usual, it never makes any sense that Brain keeps progressing in the plot.
06:19 So it's not well written enough to be worth pushing through the annoying gimmick of them always singing by reading all of its dialogue.
06:26 I'd recommend just skipping to the end to see that Pinky did something good because that's the only thing that's actually good and not arbitrary.
