00:30 First of all, we are thankful to our President because it is his priority to give support to our creative industry,
00:36 including film. To support the putting up of a film heritage building with the
00:44 intention of honoring the Filipino cinematic excellence of our filmmakers
00:49 and also ensuring that we're able to tell the Filipino story to the world
00:56 through our Filipino films. The landmark is a testament to the steps being taken
01:02 to preserve and showcase the rich cultural heritage of Philippine cinema.
01:05 The building is envisioned to be a state-of-the-art facility which will
01:09 serve as a hub of learning for students, researchers, and film enthusiasts. The
01:13 idea behind it is not only having a building but the more important part of
01:18 it is it will be open to the public, to students who are taking up media.
01:23 They can do their research work there. They can take a look at our old movies.
01:29 The DOT is expecting the building to turn into a key attraction within the
01:34 historic walled city. Once erected, the Philippine Film Heritage Building will
01:37 house the Cinematek Center Manila and the Philippine Film Archive. It will also be
