00:11 I'm making Red Lentil Soup, but completely different.

00:18 But this one trust me, is completely different.
00:21 Let's begin.
00:21 Let's begin with a spice paste.
00:23 Beginning with Cumin Seeds.
00:25 Turmeric Powder.
00:30 Black Peppercorns.
00:31 Cloves of Garlic, lots of them.
00:33 I'm adding in some roughly cut Onions.
00:35 Let's grind this into a paste.
00:37 Coursifying is completely personal.
00:40 Let's begin with Vegetable Oil.
00:49 And while that's heating up, let's quickly chop up some vegetables.
00:58 And along with this, some Potatoes.
01:01 Let's add these vegetables in hot oil.
01:08 Along with the remaining roughly cut Onions.
01:11 Saute this for a minute or so.
01:13 And then we'll add in the rest of the ingredients.
01:15 There's one thing that you need to note at this point in time.
01:19 If you want that smoky aroma, that smoky element in this soup specially,
01:23 You continue charring this, till you are kind of comfortable with the flavour.
01:28 Otherwise sauteing is just about perfect.
01:30 Now for this soup specially, I'm using Red Lentils,
01:33 which are soaked for a couple of hours.
01:35 And it's important to also take Lentils that are split and skinless.
01:39 Let's add these Red Lentils or Masoor Dal to the soup.
01:43 To this, next that goes in is the Spice Paste.
01:48 Along with this, Salt.
01:49 And finally to this, Water.
01:52 Let's mix this well.
01:54 And cook this under pressure.
01:57 3 whistles.
01:58 The pressure in the cooker has completely settled down.
02:12 Time to now, quickly check the soup.
02:15 It's an absolutely stunning, wholesome, hearty soup.
02:21 Also chunky at that.
02:22 Now there are two ways in which you can serve this soup,
02:24 You can serve it just the way it is,
02:26 Just a little bit of Lemon Juice and Coriander and that's about it.
02:29 Or you can actually blend this nice and fine,
02:33 And then add in some Water,
02:34 Add in some Salt,
02:36 Then add in Lemon Juice and Coriander.
02:38 And that's your second version of the same soup.
