PH pumalag sa akusasyong 'trespassing' mula sa Chinese military

  • last year

00:00 The National Security Council has denied the Chinese military's acquisition of trespassing or illegal entry of a Philippine ship in Scarborough Shoal or Bajo de Macinlo.
00:10 In a statement, National Security Advisor Eduardo Año said that the Philippines has the right to patrol Scarborough Shoal, especially since it is part of the country's Exclusive Economic Zone.
00:20 Año also added that the patrol of the Navy ship BRP Conrado Yap or PS-39 in Scarborough Shoal is regular. China should stop worrying about the situation and creating tensions between the two countries.
00:33 We cannot trespass in our own backyard and no one can prevent us from entering our own home. So there is no truth to what they're saying.
00:43 In a statement, China said that they are highly alert and will not allow their sovereignty to be violated.
00:50 Meanwhile, the number of countries that are expressing support for the Philippines is increasing when it comes to the issue of the South China Sea, such as the Netherlands and New Zealand.
01:00 The Foreign Minister of the Netherlands officially visited the Philippines three decades ago while the largest Navy ship of New Zealand was passing through the country.
01:10 New Zealand is hoping that this will be the start of stronger cooperation when it comes to maritime and defense security of the two countries.
01:18 New Zealand, like many nations, is aware that global security is more and more important in 2023 than ever. And of course, the Philippines is an important part, an important country in the region.
01:34 New Zealand is also aware of the growing issues in the region and possible threats to the security and peace in the South China Sea.
01:41 This visit reflects New Zealand's own commitment to doing its bit to keep our region safe, open and secure based on the rule of international law.
01:54 And to strengthen relations with our partners in the region such as the Philippines.
01:59 Dutch Foreign Minister Hanke Bruinslaat and Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo discussed how the two countries can help to maintain the rules-based order in the region.
02:09 The Netherlands stands with the Philippines in its call for the full observance of international law in the South China Sea. In that light, we support the 2016 ruling.
02:24 The Netherlands also calls for the respect of international law in every party and to avoid any confrontation in the South China Sea.
