00:00 Could you tell me please what you think the best music venue is in Sheffield that it's ever had?
00:04 Leadmill.
00:06 What do you like about the Leadmill?
00:08 Lots of taps, different music, rock, you know, anything.
00:14 But it's really good, you can have a really good time there.
00:17 Could you tell me please what you think the best music venue Sheffield's ever had has been?
00:22 It's quite a hard question to answer. I think West Street has got some really nice options.
00:27 I think West Street Live has got some live performances, Molly Malone's as well.
00:31 I think just that general central area has got some really nice venues.
00:35 So you're a big fan of Molly Malone's and West Street Live?
00:38 That's right.
00:40 Could you tell me please what you think the best music venue that Sheffield's ever had has been?
00:44 Well, I haven't been living in Sheffield that long, but my favourite is the Leadmill.
00:48 What do you like about the Leadmill?
00:49 Just a great, interesting choice of acts.
00:54 What do you think the best music venue is that Sheffield's ever had?
00:57 I think Sheffield's got loads of great music venues.
01:00 Obviously there's the Leadmill, but my personal favourite is Yellow Arches,
01:03 because there's lots of little rooms as well, so you can get to sit down while listening to your bands.
01:07 Where's Yellow Arches?
01:09 Down on Callum Island, it's been there for years and years, long before Callum Island was a thing.
01:13 There's recording studios and things like that there as well.
01:17 Could you tell me please what you think the best music venue Sheffield's ever had has been?
01:22 Probably got to be Leadmill, for many artists about there, over quite a few years drinking.
01:28 What was the best band you saw there?
01:31 I have seen Pork there, but I know loads of friends have done lots of different, nice out,
01:37 I can't think of something else.
01:40 Could you tell me please what you think the best music venue Sheffield's ever had has been?
01:45 Going back some, and I think most of them are closed now, but there was the Wapentag,
01:52 it was opposite Henry's, which is now a demolished area,
01:57 and I believe there's one, if it's Division Street, called The Limit.
02:05 City Hall's not too bad, that's still going, it's got good acoustics for the smaller,
02:15 and also the more well-known people who want to make it more intimate rather than the arenas,
02:21 but of course then you've got the arena haven't you, the motorsport arenas.
02:26 What did you think was the best?
02:29 Well, there's a sort of slight connection with me, I used to be able to go to the motorsport arenas
02:38 because a family member worked for many big bands.
02:44 Could you tell me please where you think the best live music venue Sheffield's ever had is?
02:50 I think, well, I find it difficult to decide, there were three that I think were really good.
02:57 One was the City Hall, that's because when I was a schoolboy in Scunthorpe,
03:06 I used to hire a bus and have 20 friends come to the City Hall, along with my girlfriend then,
03:13 who's now my wife, and that was always good fun, there were very big acts on then,
03:18 and now you don't see people like that in anything less than an arena.
03:24 Then when I came to Sheffield, I think the best place, the most fun venue was the Livid,
03:33 they seemed to have people who were fresh and new and with good fun.
03:39 And then the other one would be the Ledman, which has always been interesting and again had very interesting people.
03:47 Tell me please where the best music venue that Sheffield's ever had was?
03:52 Definitely the City Hall.
03:54 Why's that?
03:56 More artists, more variety from Philharmonic right through to pop, rock, classical and that sort of stuff.
04:06 Yeah.
