00:00 Dear Great Pumpkin, I'm looking forward to your arrival on Halloween night.
00:07 I hope you will bring me lots of presents.
00:11 Who are you writing to, Linus?
00:13 This is the time of year to write to the Great Pumpkin.
00:16 On Halloween night, the Great Pumpkin rises out of his pumpkin patch
00:20 and flies through the air with his bag of toys for all the children.
00:24 You must be crazy.
00:25 When are you going to stop believing in something that isn't true?
00:28 When you stop believing in that fellow with the red suit and the white beard
00:32 who goes ho, ho, ho.
00:35 We are obviously separated by denominational differences.
00:39 You must get discouraged because more people believe in Santa Claus than in you.
00:45 Well, let's face it, Santa Claus has had more publicity.
00:49 But being number two, perhaps you'll try harder.
00:53 [laughing]
01:04 Not again.
01:10 Writing a letter to a stupid pumpkin?
01:12 You make me the laughingstock of the neighborhood.
01:16 All they talk about is my little brother who always writes to the Great Pumpkin.
01:21 You better cut it out right now or I'll pound you.
01:25 There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people--
01:29 religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin.
01:34 You're wasting your time. The Great Pumpkin is a fake.
01:39 Everyone tells me you are a fake, but I believe in you.
01:44 P.S. If you really are a fake, don't tell me. I don't want to know.
01:49 What are you doing, Linus?
01:51 I'd rather not say. You might laugh.
01:54 Oh, I never laugh at you, Linus. You're so intelligent.
01:59 I'm writing to the Great Pumpkin.
02:02 You say the cutest things.
02:05 On Halloween night, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch
02:09 and flies through the air to bring toys to all the good little children everywhere.
02:14 Wouldn't you like to sit with me in the pumpkin patch on Halloween night
02:18 and wait for the Great Pumpkin?
02:20 Oh, I'd love to, Linus.
02:22 What's going on here? What are you trying to do to my little sister?
02:26 And how do you think you're going to mail that letter?
02:36 You can't possibly reach the mailbox.
02:44 And I'm not going to help you.
