00:00 Welcome to the WrestleTalk News, I'm Pete Quinnell.
00:08 In the past month it was confirmed that USA Network will be taking over the SmackDown
00:12 TV rights from Fox starting next year, which then raised some question marks over the rights
00:16 for Raw and NXT, considering USA already have the rights to those two shows, and if they're
00:21 going to retain them then presumably it would all be negotiated together.
00:25 And so the speculation has kicked up as to what the future holds for Raw and NXT, as
00:29 well as it being a negotiation season for AEW as well, with Dynamite, Rampage and Collision
00:35 all up for grabs.
00:36 There's even been speculation as to a streaming deal for AEW with Max being a potential frontrunner,
00:41 Max being the streaming service, not MJF.
00:43 And the two wrestling companies' futures might be more intertwined than you'd think.
00:47 The USA Network, where WWE programming airs, is owned by NBCUniversal, while TNT and TBS,
00:53 where AEW programming airs, are owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.
00:56 According to Fightful Select, NBCUniversal was very eager to land the rights to SmackDown,
01:00 but that may not be the end of their bidding just yet.
01:03 It's reportedly expected that NBCU will be making bids for NBA programming rights,
01:08 which are currently on TNT and have been a staple of the network for years, and so if
01:12 that domino falls, the rest begin to as well, because if NBCU get the rights for NBA, it
01:17 will potentially affect the budget they have to bid for renewed Raw and NXT rights.
01:22 And on the opposite side, if TNT don't get the renewed rights for NBA, then it would
01:26 allow them to have more budget to bid on other projects, for example, wrestling.
01:30 AEW and WBD were reportedly unable to come to an agreement which would have included
01:35 AEW TV, PPVs and crucially, the AEW Library.
01:39 This appeared to have been the sticking point, as Tony Khan reportedly feels there is a certain
01:43 value for the AEW Library, which seemingly wasn't met.
01:47 WBD are reported to be very happy with the AEW partnership and want it to continue.
01:51 So with a potentially expanded budget if they do end up losing the rights to the NBA, we
01:56 could see WBD and TNT come to that agreement with Khan about the AEW Library on top of
02:01 TV and PPVs.
02:02 Plus there's the floating unknown of Raw and NXT as well, where if certain dominoes
02:07 fall in a certain way, we could see some crazy shifts in wrestling with WWE ending up on
02:12 TNT, that one seems unlikely.
02:14 Or we could see an outsider move in if TNT and NBCU are tied up with their own projects,
02:20 like a Disney or an Amazon.
02:21 It's a haze of unknown fog at the moment, but as is the case with wrestling a lot of
02:24 the time, anything can happen.
02:26 Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest as this develops.

03:45 Now over to Oli.
03:47 I'm Oli Davis, now it's time for my review of AEW Dynamite… in about 5 minutes.
03:56 1998's Deadly Games tournament, Samoa Joe vs Sami Zayn's 2 out of 3 falls match on
04:01 NXT, Survivor Series 2021's Who Stole Vince McMahon's Golden Egg.
04:05 I'm a sucker for an episode long wrestling storyline, and this Dynamite gave us one of
04:09 the most tried and tested formulas.
04:12 Our top star Babyface has to find some tag partners to fight the bad guys by the time
04:17 of the main event.
04:18 After opening on an effective recap package, getting viewers up to speed on the night's
04:22 stories, MJF spoke with Adam Cole via Thunderdome about his predicament.
04:27 He needs three new friends to take on the four person strong Gang Bang Gang.
04:31 But he's only got one friend, and he's on this screen, not here, and very much injured.
04:36 This continued in multiple segments of Max approaching or ignoring potential partners
04:40 backstage.
04:41 Chris Jericho answered for Kenny Omega just by saying 'f*** off' with his face.
04:45 Wardlow pinned him against the wall, threatening to take everything from him.
04:49 MJF couldn't bring himself to knock on Samoa Joe's door, but he did deface Darby Allin's
04:53 name sign by writing 'emo bitch'.
04:55 The only people left by the end were Team TNA, making Max realise he'd have to take
05:00 up the acclaimed on their offer.
05:01 Which is a stupid tactical decision.
05:04 Team TNA would've been perfect.
05:06 Stop sleeping on Jeff Jarrett, Tony Khan.
05:08 Put him in the main event.
05:10 This was a great way to have a hook to stay with the show until the end, while also fleshing
05:13 out AEW's backstage Universe as a real tangible place.
05:17 The opening match, however, was a great international title bout between Orange Cassidy and Claudio
05:22 Castagnoli - a mixture of championship stakes and blood feud, with Claudio wanting to avenge
05:27 Bryan Danielson's injury - the character dynamic and action gaming Cassidy vs PAC vibes
05:32 from Revolution 2020.
05:33 With Orange doing his comedy rolling out the ring spots, and Claudio getting increasingly
05:38 frustrated.
05:39 But this is a very different Cassidy from then, and he went into giving maximum effort,
05:43 firing up with kicks and winning with a pop-up hurricanrana pin.
05:46 Jon Moxley came out after where Cassidy went right for him.
05:49 He'd just wrestled quite a physical match, though, so Mox beat the crap out of him.
05:54 Moxie cut a great promo backstage afterwards, laying out his motivation.
05:58 He gave Cassidy respect when they fought.
06:00 But Orange did not give him the same in return, picking up Mox's scraps by beating Fenix
06:04 for the belt.
06:05 That should've been Moxley's match.
06:07 And he'll get his revenge at Full Gear.
06:09 Then we got another title match.
06:11 I think AEW's doing that thing where they have too many titles again.
06:15 The Hung Bucks defending their ROH Trios Championships against the Embassy.
06:19 I thought Hangman Page was going to go crazy intense from the start here, given that the
06:23 Embassy's leader Swerve Strickland invaded his home and cut a wrestling promo on his
06:26 baby last week.
06:28 But they just started wrestling a standard trios match, until Strickland appeared on
06:32 the ramp and Page chased him off.
06:34 The Bucks were left at a man disadvantage, and the Embassy rather unceremoniously beat
06:38 them.
06:39 Which Matt Jackson was super annoyed about afterwards, hitting ring posts with a chair.
06:42 Calm down, mate.
06:43 It's-oh you lost your titles!
06:44 I forgot the titles were there.
06:45 I forgot they're on the line.
06:48 We heard live from Adam Copeland in the ring where he debated whether to team with Sting
06:52 and Darby Allin at full gear.
06:54 This brought out Christian to say some very nasty things.
06:56 A brawl with all involved, and Copeland finally hitting a cathartic spear on Cage, announcing
07:01 he will team against him at the pay-per-view.
07:04 Seeing that they'd put so much time into Copeland not wanting to fight Christian, this
07:07 all came about rather suddenly.
07:09 I thought they'd have Copeland reluctantly help Sting out in a sense of duty, but say
07:13 on one condition - he won't wrestle his best friend.
07:16 Then you have a far more interesting dynamic heading into that match.
07:19 And you can hold off on the big Copeland spearing Cage spot that they gave away here.
07:24 Then it was time for Tony Khan's latest important announcement for wrestling fans
07:28 worldwide.
07:30 This week in Kentucky, where it is November 1st, the start of the holiday season.
07:37 Enter mad awkward joke about Christmas trees at his parents' house being up since July.
07:41 AEW has had one of its best years ever, with the most tickets sold for a wrestling show.
07:48 So this week in Kentucky, I am proud to announce not a streaming deal, not a new TV contract,
07:55 but that tickets will be on sale for everyone for All In next August, next month on December
08:03 1st in Winnipeg.
08:06 But before then, by like a week, so late November, you can get pre-sale tickets.
08:12 So sign up now, this week, in Kentucky, to buy tickets in a month for a show 10 months
08:18 away.
08:19 Shazam Fury of the Gods.
08:23 Chris Jericho overcame being hit in the face with his own bat to beat his old JAS cronies
08:27 2.0 with Kenny Omega by his side.
08:29 The Don Callis family challenged them to an eight man tag in Ontario in two weeks' time.
08:34 That's Canada.
08:35 And Kenny announced Kota Ibushi for the babyface team, while Jericho said, well, it's Paul
08:42 White.
08:43 Meaning we will finally see the Big Show team with Kota Ibushi.
08:49 Just wish I could go back in time and tell my 2018 New Japan loving self, yes, you will,
08:53 you will one day see this dream team come true of Kota Ibushi and Big Show.
09:00 Matt Jackson was annoyed that Jericho had suddenly just started showing up in the Elite's
09:03 locker room considering their combative past, but he was probably just annoyed his ROH Trios
09:08 titles mean nothing.
09:09 Willow Nightingale and Shida put on a really decent match, with not just Willow kicking
09:12 out of an Avalanche Falcon Arrow at one and hitting a pounce for a great nearfall of her
09:16 own, but also John Cena was there.
09:19 Sure it was just a pop-up graphic promoting his wipeout show on TBS, but still, Cena won
09:25 in the end.
09:26 I wouldn't be beating Willow here, as she's got the most breakout potential in the division
09:29 for me.
09:30 The match saw AEW consolidate five different women's segments in one, rushing through
09:34 Shida chasing off Toni Storm, and Sky Blue not turning on Willow, and instead Blue misting
09:40 Julia Hart.
09:41 The main event saw the Gang Bang Gang wrestling MJF, and the only people he could get to tag
09:45 with him…
09:47 The Acclaimed.
09:48 It was actually a bit of an anti-climax, as the emphasis was more on Max coming out dressed
09:52 like The Acclaimed rather than The Acclaimed being the partners.
09:55 It was still a wickedly fun match, though, with Daddy Ass giving zero Fs on his actual
10:00 birthday, saying actual F-words loudly on camera.
10:04 They effectively teased a four-way scissoring spot for the whole match, but Jey White hit
10:07 a Blade Runner for the shockingly clean win, still escaping with the belt.
10:12 The drama was instead on the post-match, where Max Caster sacrificed himself, taking a title
10:17 shot bullet instead of MJF.
10:19 This was where Daddy Ass told MJF to effing scissor him, and we got the payoff from weeks
10:24 of build.
10:25 While MJF is a great comedy performer, now's the time to switch into the serious gear of
10:29 his Jey White feud, like how he's done in the past against Cole and Danielson.
10:33 It was probably meant to happen with the scrapped anti-Semitism angle, so now we're quite
10:37 overdue.
10:38 This week's Dynamite is 78%.
10:40 Now go watch us count down the 10 best Saudi Arabia matches.
