Daniel Jones Feared to Have Suffered Knee Injury
Transcript
00:00 The New York Giants were no match for a rejuvenated Las Vegas Raiders team who took a commanding
00:05 24-0 lead at the half and never looked back.
00:08 Las Vegas, under interim head coach Antonio Pierce, a former Giants linebacker, finished
00:15 with a 30-6 triumph in a game that saw the Raiders defense record a whopping eight sacks
00:21 against the Giants quarterbacks and hold the sputtering Giants offense to a 25% conversion
00:26 rate on third down and a 20% conversion rate on fourth down.
00:31 But the real story for the 2-7 Giants in what's a lost season is the right knee injury suffered
00:36 by quarterback Daniel Jones at the end of the first quarter.
00:40 Jones' knee appeared to bend awkwardly as he was trying to escape pressure and he could
00:45 be seen on the sideline in between quarters trying to shake it off.
00:48 However, on the first play of the second quarter, Jones, who had just returned following a three-week
00:54 absence due to a neck injury, had his right knee buckle underneath him when he dropped
00:58 back to pass, his day coming to an end at that point.
01:02 The Giants declared him out of the game but did not offer a definitive diagnosis, pending
01:07 of course an MRI which Jones is to have on Monday.
01:11 However, multiple reports say that Jones suffered what is potentially a "significant" knee
01:17 injury and one that could, pending the results of the MRI, be season-ending.
