00:02 - All right, so let's talk about two other teams
00:07 going in different directions,
00:08 at least for the time being could change.
00:10 The Jets were very fortunate a couple of weeks ago
00:12 to beat the Giants.
00:13 That was really a loss.
00:14 And they played awful on Monday night.
00:16 Now the best bet in sports, Brady,
00:19 and I've said this on the show,
00:20 I said it Friday here on the show,
00:21 rarely do I say my favorite bet
00:23 or anything here on the show
00:24 was automatically take the Raiders.
00:27 You know why, Brady?
00:28 Because I don't care any coach that gets fired
00:30 in the NFL, in college football, the NBA,
00:33 Major League Baseball, go across the board.
00:35 The team wants to prove that it was the coach's fault
00:39 and not theirs.
00:40 And boy, did that show up for the Raiders
00:42 against the Giants.
00:43 So for me, I'm just not sure
00:45 where the Jets are headed at this point.
00:47 I know they have a good defense
00:48 that didn't show up really all that much on Monday night.
00:51 And same thing with like the Dobbs conversation
00:53 with the Raiders.
00:54 Is this like a temporary boost
00:56 for the Raiders off that one way
00:58 with Antonio Pierce?
00:59 And now we're back to where we were?
01:00 I tend to think so.
01:02 - Exactly.
01:03 Great minds think alike, Craig.
01:05 You know, the Raiders not only really responding
01:09 in the wake of their coach being fired,
01:10 but a coach that they didn't like.
01:12 So you had not only the team wanting to prove
01:15 that it wasn't their fault,
01:16 but a guy that they didn't like is now out of the building.
01:19 So they were really on fire and inspired and enthused
01:22 and beat the Giants handily.
01:25 But let's slow down a little bit.
01:27 Not only are the Giants a bad team,
01:29 they didn't have their quarterback for most of that game.
01:32 So let's not get too excited too quickly
01:34 about the Las Vegas Raiders.
01:36 And you're exactly right.
01:37 It's similar to the Dobbs situation.
01:39 The Dobbs situation with the Vikings,
01:41 they rally the troops because their star is injured.
01:44 The Las Vegas Raiders rally
01:46 because their coach has been fired.
01:48 Now it's back to reality for both of these teams.
01:51 And will that hold over or will it wear off
01:54 for both the Vikings and the Las Vegas Raiders?
01:57 I'm not quite sure yet.
01:59 I make the Jets a one and a half point favorite.
02:02 That's exactly where it is.
02:04 The Jets is a road favorite, sounds scary.
02:08 But the public is probably going to be on the Raiders here
02:11 because they believe this team has new life.
02:13 And I think they do, but to what extent?
02:16 And they just saw the Jets on Monday night
02:18 be absolutely pathetic on offense.
02:21 So I think it is a little bit of a buy low spot on the Jets.
02:25 Now, we saw what that Chargers pass rush did
02:28 to that beat up offensive line for the Jets.
02:31 The Raiders have a very good pass rush as well.
02:33 And their defense is actually pretty decent,
02:35 far improved over last year
02:37 in the defensive side of the ball for Las Vegas.
02:40 So I don't think that side of the ball
02:42 will necessarily see any regression,
02:44 but overall I think the Jets
02:46 are probably the better team here.
02:48 And that's why the odds makers have them as a road favorite.
02:51 That's why I do.
02:52 But it's very similar, the Minnesota Saints situation
02:56 where you have a couple of different angles going
02:59 and the Raiders and the Jets.
03:01 And you wonder if those immediate reactions
03:04 to the Cousins injury and the McDaniels firing
03:07 will hold over or wear off in this follow-up game.
03:10 So I think those are,
03:11 the Niners and the Jaguars ought to be really good.
03:14 And these two are very interesting.
