00:00 Michigan State played poorly.
00:02 They had three perimeter players
00:04 who had really, really tough games.
00:08 You had the point guard, A.J. Hogard.
00:12 You had the power forward, Malik Hall.
00:14 They just did not play at their level.
00:17 And it offset a brilliant night
00:22 from one of their teammates.
00:24 And it just became a disappointment for Michigan State.
00:28 And they've got a lot of difficult games to play,
00:31 both in the conference and out.
00:33 And so to start off with a home loss,
00:37 even to a team that has a shot at making the NCAAs,
00:40 certainly is one they're not gonna be happy about.
00:44 - No, not at all.
00:45 And you had them in your top five
00:48 for the preseason top 25 that you just put out here
00:51 before the season started.
00:53 But look, that's the one thing about college hoops, Mike,
00:56 that's so different from college football.
00:59 If you lost a game like that in early September
01:02 in college football to a team like James Madison
01:05 from the Sunbelt, it can ruin your year.
01:08 In college basketball, you won't even remember that game
01:12 if Michigan State's at the final four and the elite eight.
01:15 Go back and think about that stuff.
01:18 It's a tough loss, but it doesn't derail your entire year.
