00:00 These destroyed unmanned tanks are the result of a dead hit by live fire cannon rounds.
00:09 Training that's necessary to prepare for a combat situation.
00:13 So how do we go about even getting into it?
00:15 We all enter through the lower hatch.
00:17 That's how we first get into the tanks.
00:18 I'm going to climb down there, step right in there in the lower seat, and I'll climb
00:21 in through the T seat.
00:22 Okay, I'm going in.
00:24 Quarters inside the Abrams are tight.
00:27 The gunner is seated within inches of the cannon recoil, a dangerous job that takes
00:31 incredible concentration and guts to perform, a task not for the claustrophobic.
00:36 These sights right here, like I said, this is the gunner's primary sight, the GPS, is
00:41 where the gunner will stick his head and see out the sights.
00:45 Tank commander has a sight up here called the GPSE.
00:48 He sees exactly the same thing the gunner sees.
00:51 Those are all the gunner's control handles down there.
00:53 Here's the gunner's control handle for power.
00:56 We've got two manuals, so you can actually manually traverse and elevate the main gun
01:00 too in case you lose power.
01:02 You've got ammo select switches down there, gun select switch to shoot the machine gun
01:06 or the main gun.
01:07 You've got your thermal sights down there.
01:09 Turn that on and off.
01:13 If for any reason the Abrams needs a lift, the powerful M88 recovery vehicle comes to
01:17 the rescue.
01:18 We bet your auto club doesn't have this service.
01:23 I'm Lance Corporal Cody Wilkins, 1st Marine Division, Bravo Company 2nd Platoon, and you're
01:27 watching 4-Wheeler TV.
01:29 Stay put, Marine.
01:30 We'll be back after this.
01:31 (cymbal crash)
