00:00 We are backstage with CMA winner Luke Holmes. How does it feel?
00:03 It feels great. Always feels great. Never gets old.
00:07 Never gets old. No. So when you recorded and released Fast Car, did you have any feeling
00:12 that it would go on to do
00:13 this? Do everything that it has done? No, that was never the intention. You know, it's just
00:18 really recorded because it's, you know, it meant a lot to me personally and
00:21 like it has millions and millions of other folks.
00:24 One of my, the first songs I ever remember even hearing
00:28 and probably my first favorite song that I ever had and when I said I learned to play guitar at 21,
00:35 you know, I mean that's 12 years ago now, which is crazy, but I spent weeks and weeks and weeks
00:41 learning how to play that song on guitar only to not be able to sing it while I played it and then
00:48 it's months and months more of figuring that out because I was such an infancy of my guitar
00:54 abilities, but that song meant so much to me that it was the first thing that I gravitated towards.
00:59 When I went to record this record, it was just, I wanted to do it for me because it's meant so
01:05 much to me that tune and I never would have imagined a million years. It was never the plan
01:10 to put it out as a single. It was never planned for it to have the life that it has, but I'm
01:15 thankful that it did. Absolutely. Have you gotten a chance to talk to Tracy yet about it? I haven't,
01:20 not in any one-on-one capacity, you know, our teams have kind of communicated for us and
01:28 I'm looking forward to that opportunity one day. That'll be real special for me, for sure. Maybe
01:33 you could clink your trophies in the near future. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely. That'd be great.
01:37 That'd be great.
