00:00 Hi guys and welcome to Drivespark, I'm Prameet and today what we are driving is the 2023
00:13 Renault Kwid.
00:14 Now this is the Renault Kwid Climber and this car has got some additional safety features
00:19 that I'll be telling you in this video.
00:21 So let's quickly start this video and I'll tell you everything you need to know about
00:24 this hatchback.
00:25 So starting off with the front end of the car, the very first thing you notice is that
00:35 the design has not changed, the car remains exactly the same.
00:38 Now this is the Climber version, so you get in this dual tone ferris that is white and
00:42 black, you get a black roof and you can get it in other colours as well.
00:47 Also you can see that the DRLs are at the same place, the indicators are right behind
00:51 the DRLs.
00:52 The headlight housing is on the bumper and obviously it features a dual barrel headlight
00:59 but it features halogen headlights.
01:01 You get some amount of chrome, a big Renault logo, you get hood lines and creases that
01:05 actually make the car slightly more muscular from the front end when you look at it and
01:09 there's some amount of chrome also to give it that premiumness.
01:13 However when you move to the side is where you notice that the wheel is actually it looks
01:19 like an alloy wheel but these are 14-inch steel wheels and these steel wheels are cut
01:24 in such a design that the wheel cap that the company gives you actually fits exactly leaving
01:31 no space so when you see it from a distance it actually looks like an alloy which is actually
01:35 a very nice thing because I mean a good steel wheel design like this is really appreciated
01:41 and you don't need to spend anything and put an alloy wheel because it actually looks like
01:46 an alloy.
01:47 However you can see you get body cladding all over and that makes the car slightly more
01:52 muscular on the side as well you get these blacked out door handles and you also get
01:58 184 mm of ground clearance.
02:02 Now 184 mm of ground clearance is actually pretty decent for a car this size and obviously
02:07 this is the climber version so actually this gets slightly more mm of ground clearance.
02:13 The regular could I think gets around 180 so yeah I mean it can go over anything not
02:19 exactly over anything but yeah the bumps, potholes if four people are also sitting in
02:24 the car the car will not bottom out anywhere.
02:26 Moving on to the rear section you do not get a sharp fin antenna as you can see over here
02:31 you get a regular antenna and you get a spoiler behind you also get a high stop light that's
02:38 not present in LED that is a halogen unit however the tail light features a mix and
02:43 match of halogen and LEDs looks nice you get a Renault logo and right in centre of the
02:49 Renault logo you get the reverse parking camera and the parking camera quality is actually
02:54 nice you get sensors as well and you can see that the boot lip has a chrome finish you
03:01 get the quid badging in the centre and the bumpers is obviously finished in this matte
03:06 black finish.
03:07 However if you see that the boot so the boot space you get around 279 be precise but 280
03:14 litres of boot space you do not get a 60/40 split however you can fold on the entire bench
03:20 if you need to take more luggage if you're two people travelling and you have some big
03:24 bags to carry then you can fold down the seat and you will get a lot of space.
03:30 Moving on to the inside now first of all you get a very basic key for this car and you
03:42 get two obviously you get a pair so the spare key does not have a lock and unlock button
03:47 however the main key gets a lock and unlock button and the spare key the logo behind is
03:51 also not finished in chrome it's finished in piano black however the original key I
03:56 mean the first key that is the key that is the lock and unlock button that gets a chrome
04:01 logo a chrome Renault logo at the back.
04:03 Moving on to the inside so you can see you get a blacked out interior however you can
04:07 see that the seats are they are all fabric and there is no soft touch material there
04:12 is hard plastic as you can see over here you get quid written over there you get circular
04:17 AC vents on either sides you get rectangular AC vents at the centre however you get this
04:22 eight inch infotainment system and this is the same system that you find on the Renault
04:27 Triber you also get a digital cluster over here again this cluster is also seen on the
04:32 Triber and this is now actually it gives out a lot of information plus it also has a TPMS
04:40 that is one of the safety features that I was telling you about that the car I mean
04:44 the safety feature that has been added in this car so yeah this gets TPMS and you also
04:49 get a TPMS warning with a light and it tells you what type of example front left or front
04:55 right or rear left or rear right it will tell you what tap pressure is low well moving on
05:00 you get a manual AC you get all four power windows the front two buttons over here the
05:05 rear two buttons are placed where they should be they are not placed here somewhere or here
05:10 they are placed behind before this used to get manual window controls for the rear ones
05:15 but now they have switched to the electric one so all four windows are electrically operated
05:20 however the steering wheel is nice you get steering mounted controls to control the infotainment
05:24 system you do not get cruise control with this however the steering wheel cannot be
05:28 adjusted for tilt or telescopic so tall drivers like me might find it I mean I found it a
05:34 little difficult to get to my right driving position because I usually tilt the steering
05:38 wheel a little up and drive so I am I'm now used to it you will be used to it if you are
05:43 a tall rider but as you can see over here the headroom is pretty decent and my height
05:47 is 6'1" so I mean I don't have a problem sitting in the front seat where they I mean obviously
05:52 the seat also does not have a height adjuster so I mean it is not a problem well now let's
05:59 talk about the seats seats are comfortable they are fabric seats and I mean yeah the
06:03 rear seats also nice you get headrest but they are not adjustable all four headrests
06:08 there are two headrests at the back you do not get a central armrest however the space
06:12 at the rear is little less the headroom is nice but the legroom and the under side support
06:16 is a little compromising on that.
06:22 Now let's talk about the engine so this engine is a 1 liter it's actually a 999999cc 3 cylinder
06:30 naturally aspirated petrol engine and this produces around 62 bhp of power and 91 Nm
06:36 of peak torque and this comes mated to either a 5-speed manual that we are driving today
06:40 or an AMT gearbox now the manual gearbox is actually nice the AMT we have not driven yet
06:46 but I mean I've driven the older AMTs but they have said that they have improved the
06:50 AMT slightly so we'll be driving the AMT version sometime later and telling you how it performs
06:55 but the manual gearbox is nice it is very light the throws are really good the clutch
07:00 is very light on the car and yes being a three cylinder it is slightly noisy if I just downshift
07:05 and if I just rev you can hear post 3,500-4,000 rpm it just the noise starts creeping in and
07:14 it red lines all the way up to 6,000 rpm which is actually a good thing it touches triple
07:20 digit speeds in no time and it is a perfect car I mean the acceleration is kind of linear
07:25 it's got a linear mid-range and a decent top end however the suspension setup on this is
07:31 slightly on the softer side yeah the suspension is really nice now I'm hitting a speed bump
07:35 and you can see it just took it very easily so I mean the car sits high it has the suspension
07:43 soft suspension setup so obviously there is some amount of body roll in the car and yeah
07:49 it is not a car that you go cutting corners with but yeah it's a very nice family hatchback
07:55 a small hatchback it's just like a go-kart you can maneuver in the city through busy
08:00 traffic also because it's small in size but it has got all the features that you need
08:07 and now talking about the safety features of this so the safety features now include
08:12 first of all you have two airbags and for the driver and the passenger then you have
08:17 EPS that is electronic stability program as standard then you have traction control you
08:23 have tire pressure monitoring that I already mentioned so these are a few safety features
08:28 now that comes standard with the quid and with that yeah the car is pretty safe it also
08:33 has a 80 and 120 speed chime alert so if you are doing way above your speed limit it will
08:40 continuously keep on beeping keeping you in control so I guess yeah guys this was the
08:45 all new Renault quid and I mean if you have if you need to know anything else about this
08:51 car but before I end the topic I'll tell you the mileage so the claimed mileage of this
08:56 is somewhere between 21 and 22 kilometers per liter since it is a small engine and if
09:01 you keep a light foot on the highway as well you will be able to achieve that mileage figure
09:06 and on a full tank you will easily do over 500 kilometers in one journey so yeah guys
09:11 if you need to know anything else about this car please mention on the comment section
09:15 we will get back to you on that other than I'm Prameet signing out see you next time
09:18 thanks so much for watching take care be safe and drive safe.
