00:31 The Plastic Hour with Professor Butterfield.
00:35 Good morning, Junior Inventors.
00:38 Good morning, Professor.
00:40 As I promised you last week, this morning we are going to bake an airplane out of junk.
00:47 Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy.
00:50 Is your junk ready?
00:51 Yes, sir. You betcha.
00:54 All right, then let's get started with our plane.
00:58 Be sure and have a good hot fire under your pot for cooking the plastic.
01:03 While your plastic is simmering, stir thoroughly until a creamy texture is attained.
01:15 Now we'll pour the batter on the griddle and let it bake.
01:21 [Music]
01:26 Now you have your blueprints for the motor parts and your instructions,
01:31 so while you're baking your motor, we will entertain you with some music played with all plastic instruments.
01:39 [Music]
02:08 [Music]
02:22 Is your tail assembly toasting?
02:26 Well, don't let it burn.
02:28 [Music]
02:47 See how light it is? It floats like a feather.
02:51 I'll bet you forgot to bake your helmet.
02:55 Hurry up.
02:57 I'll wait for you if you'll put a wiggle on.
03:00 [Music]
03:07 Now the moment we've been waiting for.
03:11 The first flight in our plastic plane.
03:14 Well, how does she work?
03:17 Wonderful.
03:19 I thought so.
03:20 This little number will do anything.
03:23 Climbs like a rock.
03:26 And she'll dive like a comet.
03:30 [Music]
03:40 Be careful or you'll back out.
03:43 [Music]
04:00 [Roar]
04:02 Tell me, professor, does the plane have any faults?
04:06 Yes, one fault. It melts in water.
04:09 [Squeak]
04:10 So don't dare get it wet. And avoid all rain clouds.
04:15 [Music]
04:21 Is your nose running?
04:23 Well, wipe it off. Wipe it off.
04:25 [Music]
04:27 Are your pants slipping?
04:29 [Chuckle]
04:30 Well, don't get caught with your pants down.
04:32 [Music]
04:37 Be sure and keep your eye on your wings.
04:40 [Music]
04:57 [Explosion]

06:13 If you just keep on flying plastic planes, you'll be in the dough.
06:19 [Music]
06:28 Don't you think it's about time you came in for a landing?
06:32 [Music]
06:38 [Explosion]
06:39 [Music]
06:42 Did your plane fall apart? That's funny.
06:46 [Chuckle] You know, it always happens that way to me, too.
06:50 Tune in again next week, and I'll have a new recipe.
06:53 I guess it's just a fair weather plane.
