00:00 Well, full-time here at Anfield, a real wet, windy, cold day, but three points certainly
00:05 warm the pot holes as Liverpool earned a 3-0 victory over Brentford to bounce back to winning
00:10 ways after not winning the previous two games, under par at Luton last week, the 1-1 draw,
00:15 really underwhelming in the 3-2 loss to Toulouse in the Europa League. But Liverpool, solid,
00:22 not spectacular but they got the job done against Brentford, they were really difficult
00:27 to break down at times and difficult to play against, just the way that they make it hard
00:31 for teams. Liverpool broke the deadlock in the 39th minute through Mo Salah, he had a
00:37 couple of goals chalked off for offside previously through Darwin Nunes, he had the ball twice
00:42 in the back of the net, but Mo Salah who gave Liverpool the lead in the 39th minute, a nice
00:48 move from Liverpool, Nunes slipped Salah in and he didn't do an awful lot to be honest
00:53 with Mo Salah in the first half, but when he got his opportunity, really tough, got
00:56 a clinical finish into the far corner. Second half, Liverpool survived a VAR review for
01:02 Guitaro Enzo, who actually wasn't a referee Paul Tierney, he didn't have a really good
01:07 game but he actually didn't give a foul at all for Enzo and Brentford captain Christian
01:11 Norgard, VAR looked at it, didn't overturn the decision and Liverpool doubled the lead
01:17 through Salah again. Cross dug out by Costa Simacas, it appeared that the ball might have
01:23 just ran out of play but Simacas on the slide just got there in time and there was Salah
01:28 at the back post to Hez Olmen and Diogo Diotto with 16 minutes remaining made it 3-0, really
01:33 nice finish, weaved himself a little bit of space on the edge of the box before firing
01:38 into the far corner and Liverpool up to second in the table, on goals difference ahead of
01:43 Arsenal, big win for Liverpool, they needed that after the two previous performances.
01:50 Two sets of battering excellence, Virgil van Dijk and Joel Massa, especially with Ibrahim
01:55 Canarsie and Joe Gomez both out massively, really came to the fore and Van Dijk enjoying
01:59 a really strong season for Liverpool, especially after all the scrutiny come over last campaign.
02:06 Mo Salah obviously had to double again, 12 goals this season and 200 in his football amount,
02:10 all but two of them being for Liverpool so 198 in total. Strong performances really with
02:18 Taro Endal getting minutes giving us a bit of a midfield crisis, Alexis Picault is not
02:22 available, Keir Sturgeon's right ground but still injured. So all in all a decent win
02:29 for Liverpool to sign off before the international break and of course they've got Man City to
02:33 come after that, that's a massive game, it'll be first versus second as things stand, Man
02:37 City beat Chelsea as things stand, it looks like it's going to be a huge game really to
02:43 be honest with you. So yeah, that ends the year, Liverpool 3-0.
