00:09 Rob, we're not going to focus all on the negative Nebraska's loss to Maryland.
00:14 We are going to focus on what I...
00:15 There was positives?
00:16 There was a positive.
00:17 It actually happened in the first quarter and it was the fake punt which was drawn up
00:20 perfectly.
00:21 My question to you is, when you come up to this, is a fake punt a go all the way or do
00:26 you wait to see the formation and audible in or out of a fake punt?
00:29 Usually the fake punt will be called and if there is an audible, it's going to be an audible
00:34 out of the fake punt.
00:35 So you come up assuming you're going to fake it unless you see something there that just,
00:41 well, basically says, "Yeah, don't run this.
00:43 We're going to get stuffed on this particular play."
00:45 It was a great setup.
00:48 You only needed to get five yards which honestly when you see a lot of these situations where
00:52 a team has a fourth and five or less, I don't...
00:55 I mean, you're getting close to midfield.
00:57 I don't know why everybody doesn't just fake it because I think the success rate is something
01:01 like 70%.
01:03 But one of the things that they scouted is the fact that Maryland tends on their punt
01:07 rush to try and go with an inside rush.
01:10 They're not trying to bring guys off the edge to come up here from the outside and get it.
01:17 It's almost always when you see the punt rush from Maryland, it always seems like it's coming
01:24 inside.
01:25 It's guys coming inside.
01:26 They're trying to get that push up the middle, get a couple of guys to tie up some blockers,
01:31 then hopefully you get a free guy come through that can maybe get pressure on the punter
01:35 here.
01:36 The fact that you've got that inside rush and then this guy here is a little bit of
01:43 a decoy.
01:44 He's got to come out here and cover one of these guys.
01:46 Otherwise, they're going to burn you on a fake punt pass to that side if you're going
01:50 to leave one of these gunners wide open.
01:52 You always have to have somebody on the gunners that's just good special teams.
01:58 So it does a nice job because it gets this guy out of here.
02:03 They've already got that inside push coming.
02:06 And then you've got a lead blocker here and it leaves Boerkerker a really nice lane.
02:12 And if you watch this play as it plays out, Boerkerker actually does not get hit until
02:17 he crosses the first down line.
02:20 First contact is right there.
02:23 Gets about 7-8 yards on the play.
02:25 And again, Nebraska is off.
02:27 The one thing I feel bad about it is the fact that they didn't score on this series.
02:31 It would have been a great series, get some points even if it's a long field goal.
02:36 You've got a few points early and you're not trying to come from behind in the second half.
02:41 Of course, the broken record for Nebraska as we saw yesterday in the diagnosis was turnovers.
02:45 Five against Maryland.

02:52 Check it out.
02:53 Dr. Rob and I are going to be talking a lot more about the turnovers, which seems to be
02:56 a broken record.
