Transcript
00:00 Brandon, obviously a pretty tough and unique challenge
00:03 going against a guy like Caleb.
00:04 Just how do you feel like you guys did
00:06 as a D-line and defense?
00:08 Did our job.
00:09 We got him on the floor.
00:10 We affected the game.
00:12 We're mad we didn't get more opportunities to hit him more.
00:14 But at the end of the day, we got to win.
00:16 It's hard to win a football game.
00:17 So I'm proud of the D-line.
00:18 I'm proud of the defense.
00:19 Great team win.
00:20 You were pretty excited to silence some of the hype
00:23 around Colorado.
00:23 Was there some more of that this week with the reigning Heisman?
00:28 You get the Heisman quarterback coming in from last year.
00:31 It's not going to be easy.
00:32 And we know it was going to be a tough task.
00:35 It was some type of hype.
00:37 But I didn't want to make it about all that.
00:39 I just want to make it about football.
00:40 And that's what I did.
00:41 And the D-line did a great job helping me get some sacks.
00:44 Stopped the run, and we got to win.
00:46 What do you feel like has been motivating you
00:48 in the team in this last stretch of the regular season?
00:52 I think it's just the connection part of the team.
00:54 We love each other a lot.
00:55 And these seniors know-- some of them
00:58 might not play football again.
00:59 So we want to make sure we give them the best opportunity
01:01 to play as much football they can.
01:03 And me, I'm not really in my college career yet.
01:05 So I'm trying to keep winning so I can play more games.
01:08 That's really what it is.
01:09 What's the vibe like around the team right now?
01:11 Because you obviously got the win, big win.
01:13 But I think a lot of people are saying
01:14 there's a lot that you can improve.
01:15 What's the vibe like?
01:16 The thing I love about this team, we win.
01:18 We get more hungry.
01:18 So I know practice on Monday is going to be physical.
01:21 And we're going to hate it.
01:22 But it's going to be great work.
01:24 And it's going to show up on Saturday.
01:26 What are some of those specific things you want to improve?
01:29 For penalties, we're doing--
01:31 we showed ourself on the flip.
01:33 We had 12 penalties for 105 yards.
01:35 So when I see that, it just hurts me.
01:38 Because I know when--
01:39 so there's going to be a game where
01:40 that's going to really hurt us.
01:41 And I don't want the penalties to make us lose the game.
01:43 So we just got to be playing more discipline ball.
01:46 Combination of you and Jordan Burch
01:48 makes this D-line really special.
01:50 Can you just speak to how you've seen Jordan improve
01:52 from your perspective since he got here?
01:54 Yeah, Jordan Burch, he's a young--
01:56 not young, but he played football for a long time.
01:58 So he's still learning a lot of stuff.
01:59 But he does a great job for us.
02:01 He allows me to go inside, play the three-tech.
02:04 I go out there.
02:04 Sometimes he go inside.
02:05 So it's a lot for a D-line to handle people
02:08 who's always moving.
02:08 And we got fresh bodies.
02:09 So this game probably wasn't the highest snap count for me.
02:12 But Coach Tony kept me fresh to keep production going.
02:14 And that's what I felt I was happy with it.
