2025 Toyota Camry First Look: All-In Hybrid

The ninth-generation Camry debuts with a hybrid-only lineup to hunt Honda's Accord.

00:00 We've got a new Camry, the ninth generation, and this time it's exclusively hybrid.

00:14 Toyota claim this car has more power, striking good looks, feature-packed convenience and

00:18 capable handling.

00:19 Let's break those points down real quick.

00:26 On the power front, well, as I said, it is purely a hybrid, no combustion only Camry,

00:31 but that's no bad thing, of course, because being a hybrid, that of course means better

00:35 miles per gallon and crucially, I think, more power.

00:38 Up to 232 horsepower in the all-wheel drive model.

00:42 That is 30 horsepower more than in the previous generation.

00:46 The drive train, well, it's a two and a half litre four cylinder combustion engine,

00:50 related to Toyota's fifth generation hybrid system that is comprised of two electric motors.

00:56 In the four-wheel drive car, that is going to be good for 225 horsepower and in the all-wheel

01:01 drive, it's going to be good, as I said, for 232.

01:05 On the looks front, well, I think you'll agree with me, it's sleeker and more athletic.

01:09 It's got that lovely Toyota hammerhead front end and the lovely low profile LEDs, which

01:15 are now standard across all models.

01:17 On all sporty models, such as the SE and the XSE, we've actually got some functional

01:30 Its layout is familiar and yet it has a feel of assured progression.
