00:00 Let's get on to the film. I watched Tennessee today. We broke it down. I think we've spent about 40 minutes
00:05 How long was film break down day 30? Yeah about 40 minutes
00:08 Over there on Tennessee's deep our offense. Okay, we broke it down watching on the film if you want to check that out
00:15 It's on patreon patreon.com forward slash Brooks Austin also comes with one of the best the best
00:19 Georgia communities active over there on discord as well
00:23 So patreon.com forward slash Brooks Austin if you want to watch that
00:26 All right, if you don't I'm about to give you the synopsis of it and it's probably gonna make you want to watch it
00:30 So let's go. Let's talk about offensive line first and foremost
00:33 They were up they used to run a lot of H insert and they still do but it was like their primary play, right?
00:39 They're gonna take the H back
00:40 Aka their tight end and they're gonna just plug him right into the middle of the offensive line
00:45 It was basically their way of running for you old-school folks fullback
00:48 I so right just a lead bat lead block right down the middle of the line of scrimmage
00:52 Okay, it's basically their way of doing that
00:55 You remember watching film study last week or if you watch it on Monday talking about H or a tackle power
01:01 Where Ole Miss was pulling the left or right tackle and kind of inserting them on the front side of the play while down blocking
01:07 Okay on the front side of the play as well. Just trying to add a hat to the front side
01:10 Tennessee does it as well very similar concept
01:14 So you're gonna have some carryover from this week to last week in terms of run design how they're gonna attack you
01:20 It was funny that Kirby kind of alluded to this earlier in the week said it's a very similar
01:25 Assignment in terms of alignment and assignment. They run a lot faster
01:29 They play a lot faster, but in terms of just what they do and how they do it from a run game perspective
01:34 It's relatively similar. It showed up on tape today when I watched it
01:37 Okay
01:38 Particularly with that tackle and that H insert which are two things that you guys repped and played against last week against Ole Miss now
01:45 Tennessee fans listening and watching this your algorithm found it
01:48 You're not gonna like this particularly because I've noticed that the Mays family did a lot of good for Tennessee football
01:54 It was kind of a win for you guys over Georgia
01:56 I would imagine you feel okay a two-year starter for you and the older brother younger brother gonna start for you for almost like three
02:01 And a half I think but I'm here to tell you
02:03 I've been watching Cooper Mays falling his face in the SEC for about three years now, and it's just it's just not great
02:09 It's not great Bob and I watch it over and over and over and over again, and I'm just shocked
02:15 I'm shocked that they don't replace it
02:17 I'm shocked that you know and I can relate to it
02:19 I said this on film today because I was that guy I was lighting the ass playing center
02:24 Okay, believe it or not at one point. I was underweight for my job title now drastically the other side, but that's beside the point
02:31 Okay, this man's a little bit underweight a little bit under sized if you will at that center position
02:37 He gets snatched on his face because he plays over his toes a little bit too much
02:42 He's just he's not great in my opinion and and neither are they from the offensive guard positions either
02:48 78 their left guard super vulnerable from an athletics perspective when I see these big uglies when I see these guys that can't move laterally
02:56 I just know Georgia's gonna eat their lunch
02:58 Okay, cuz Georgia does way too much when they notice you can't move laterally if you can't move laterally
03:04 They're disciplined enough to run run slants or run stunts against you and still maintain gap integrity
03:10 The tackles. Mm. They're big. They're really really big
03:14 I think they're susceptible as always Tennessee tackles are to the speed rush except for Darnell, right? That guy was a superstar
03:22 He was an NFL football player. Let's talk a little bit about their run game extended to the running back room
03:27 They've magically despite all what I just told you about their offensive line
03:30 They've magically managed to run the football probably as good or if not better than anybody in this conference
03:36 Okay, so let's hard stop right there before we start talking about Jalen, right the running back
03:41 Guys that tells me something about this system. It tells me something about Josh Hyples offense. Okay, it's going to work
03:48 They don't have great offensive line play right now from what I'm watching on tape
03:52 Okay, they don't have a great passing attack from what we're all seeing both in the box score and on tape
03:58 They have inconsistent quarterback play yet. Despite all of this. They are still running the football highly effectively now
04:04 We can say it's about Jalen, right? Okay, he's averaging 7.2 yards per carry
04:08 But the backups averaging I think over five and his backups averaging over four and a half
04:12 So they can still kind of run the ball no matter what okay, despite all of the factors. So again hard stop
04:18 Kudos to Josh Hyples because you're doing something that I didn't necessarily know was always gonna be effective in this conference
04:25 Okay against elite line of scrimmage play. Okay, so it's it's a good system for running the football. Let's talk about Jalen, right?
04:32 He doesn't need much room at all at all. I'm talking about slivers
04:36 All right slivers of space and this guy's just whoop right through. All right. He's a one cut back
04:42 He's very very akin to Alvin Kamara in my opinion. He's very very akin to
04:47 My man Gibbs Jameer Gibbs from Alabama last year, dude, as soon as he sees it
04:53 It's a hundred zero two hundred right now
04:56 All right
04:56 And that's why they've been so explosive on the ground because as soon as he's as soon as there's daylight
05:01 All right
05:02 He's in the gas and then once he's past that that light box that we talked about earlier in Kirby's presser
05:07 All right notes when they get past that light box
05:10 It's it's 17 18 19 yards before someone's getting him down. All right, because everybody's so spread out outside the numbers
05:18 7.2 yards per carry and again in my humble opinion, it's all him and run scheme
05:24 They do a tremendous job as well as of bouncing the football. This is a football team in Georgia
05:30 That's like hey, we want you to bounce the ball, right? Don't let you run north and south. That's that's the concepts at Georgia
05:36 Well, they kind of they kind of prefer to bounce there. They're they're okay with it. You know, why again?
05:41 Everybody outside the numbers so this this you know
05:44 This outside the tackle box to the top of the numbers a lot of grass out there and a lot of room for them to bounce
05:50 And get outside and they do it well with counter
05:53 They log counter as well as anybody that I've seen
05:57 I haven't talked about log in a long time, but logging is essentially
06:00 when you run counter and
06:03 Yeah. All right. Here we go
06:06 What would you do with my 80 DS if we didn't have none of this again magical, all right, so logging let's talk about logging
06:15 I had somebody in the comment section today saying can we get like some basic terminology, you know, you know shows
06:21 All right log. I don't know why they called it a log
06:24 Can't tell you but normally we have a log and we have a kick right a kick out block is on counter
06:30 All right that back that frontside guard pulls and he kicks out the end man on the line of scrimmage, right?
06:35 We want to kick him out here
06:36 We're trying to crease this right here
06:38 But eventually when teams started running counter over and over and over and over again, right?
06:42 Eventually this end started saying man shit as soon as I see down block from this guy. I'm turning and I'm spilling
06:48 I'm almost squeeze right and they call it a dent now used to they turn and spill do it
06:54 Chas Chambliss style run your face through that guy's face just absolutely crushing a lot of defensive ends
06:59 Don't really play like that no more. They they pass rushers. They're not, you know bulls
07:03 Okay, like Chas Chambliss
07:05 So once guys started squeezing offensive coordinators were like, alright
07:08 Offensive guard being athlete if you see this guy squeeze his face and you can't kick him out
07:13 All right, we want to get to his upfield shoulder
07:15 We want to get to his outside shoulder and pin him inside for some reason. They called it a log technique
07:20 That's what we have. All right, they do this really really well
07:23 All right
07:24 And then and then the tight end is the one they actually run it with this tight end who I think is a non threat
07:29 In the passing game. All right, he does a great job of reading the block with the running back
07:34 All right
07:34 He has to be able to see and decipher what the guards doing so he can either hey
07:39 Insert where there's a crease right if we kick out we got to insert as the second guy
07:43 All right
07:44 But if we log him if we get around the edge
07:46 We got to be able to bounce with the back and pick up whatever additional space defender ultimately comes, right?
07:52 We got to pick up the plus one out there. So that's a log technique
07:55 They do a really good job of getting it executed. All right, and it's why they've been able to bounce runs so successfully
08:01 Man again who else doing it like that? Don't know matter of fact ain't nobody ain't nobody
08:08 But ESPN and Dan Orlovsky and they got about I don't know a billion dollars
08:12 Something that we ain't got but we got some effort and we got some ingenuity
08:16 All right, and we got dreams and aspirations that we get it done around here
08:19 I want to talk about this tight end because he a non-threat. Listen this name guys McCallan castles. Hmm
08:26 Hmm McCallan McCallan castles. I think he's a transfer from UC Irvine by way of Cal
08:34 So this is his third college. He is of course a fifth maybe sixth year senior and he's about six six
08:41 255 pounds he might as well be an offensive lineman. All right against Georgia. I know what the stat
08:47 She's gonna say Tennessee fans, so don't get pissed off
08:49 I think the difference between last year and this year one of them that gets like completely overlooked
08:55 I thought Princeton fan was a guy that could detach and actually like force coverage
09:01 Outside the box. All right, and then when he added in the box, he could also block really really well
09:05 This kid blocks really well, but against a football program like Georgia where athletes are in abundance
09:11 This is a non threat a non factor
09:14 Okay, they can cover him with just about anybody and even if he gets behind they gonna run that ass down
09:19 So I'm not necessarily worried about the tight end being a threat though. He is a good serviceable blocker
09:25 Let's talk about the quarterback and wide receiver as we wrap things up here with our offensive film observations. We'll bring you the defense tomorrow
09:31 We're only halfway done cooking Tennessee about that or cooking up the recipe on Tennessee
09:37 I should say I always forget man
09:40 We can't just keep speaking to the Georgia audience because sometimes we be clipping these things for the Tennessee fans and I'm not placating to
09:46 You I'd give it to you either way, but the jokes can't always lean your way
09:49 I got to give you some back some of the other way every once in a while
09:52 Even though I did give you compliments. I think the system is gonna work
09:55 quarterback man
09:57 Milton is who I thought he was. He is who we thought he was. He stares it down
10:03 Always always. All right. I watched the
10:07 What tapes I watched today we watched their most recent game who they just play Missouri
10:12 We watched Missouri tape and I'll be I'll be damned if the Missouri
10:16 space defender if the Missouri edge defender if he ever ever
10:21 Practiced turning his head back around and picking a ball off by God
10:25 He'd have about four of them because as soon as the ball snapped there, you know, Missouri's in bail
10:29 They're playing just you know man covers way off. So they're throwing a bunch of comebacks
10:34 All right, and a bunch of speedouts and a bunch of like real underneath stuff. Basically what Tennessee's been doing all year
10:39 It's why his yards per attempt are really really bad or not necessarily what they should be for a Tennessee offense, right?
10:45 What what you're seeing is like, okay, they're throwing everything underneath everything underneath everything underneath and he's just
10:51 down-to-earth he just
10:54 Staring right at it and all of a sudden
10:56 Everybody start floating over there. And again, he's got you we arm talent
11:00 So he just rips it over that guy's head and that guy don't pay attention that guy's not athletic enough to get his head around
11:05 Well, you you about to play a team with a bunch of five stars
11:08 All right, and they are athletic enough to get their head around. So don't stare it down Joe Milton
11:13 Even though we're 10 games into this. All right five years into this and yeah, he's still staring it down as a fifth-year guy
11:21 He's not
11:23 He's a good athlete
11:25 All right, he is but I would take Jackson Dart as a runner over this Jackson Dart will make you miss Jackson Darts
11:31 Sometimes hard to hit but Jackson Darts laterally a lot more athletic than this guy
11:37 He can evade pockets and he can again make you miss
11:40 Joe Milton's best attribute as a runner is to hope he is going north and south if he's got to make anybody miss
11:46 He's very very vulnerable to taking big big shots. All right, so there's that I don't necessarily worry about the legs as much as I
11:53 Even did Hinden hooker Hinden was a tremendous athlete. He made guys miss
11:56 Quite often but the overthrows man the overthrows from this guy on the underneath coverages. I mean, it's not if it's like when it's going to
12:05 Happen every single time. I've seen this dude throw speedouts every tape
12:09 I've watched there's been a speedout thrown to the daggum sideline three rows up essentially where you know
12:15 Squirrel writes running a speedout and he goes to jump one hand sticks it up. Okay, can't even touch it now
12:21 I know squirrel writes 510 but come on man. Like it's just it's a lot
12:26 It's a lot to overcome from the quarterback position and from the wide receiver position
12:30 They've been decimated and it's part of the reason why Joe's struggled. All right, I don't again
12:34 I don't think a lot of people talk about how much this offense is predicated off of options where hey if they do this
12:39 I do that right and when you have a bunch of moving parts, which they've had at the wide receiver position
12:44 Jalen Hyatt Cedric Tillman and Brew McCoy
12:46 All right, all NFL football players two of them gone to the NFL one of them just broke his ankle earlier in the year
12:52 Probably not definitely not gonna come back not gonna be available in this football game
12:55 So when you have a bunch of these moving parts, all right, I don't care how good squirrel white is
13:00 I don't care how good the the transfer Thornton is from Oregon
13:03 It's gonna take a while and it's taken longer than probably most expect
13:07 But that being said they can still play down set Hutt chuck it up
13:11 All right
13:12 They can still throw it 60 yards against one-on-one coverage and make you defend a deep ball and that right there
13:19 Ladies and gentlemen is enough to create some scoring opportunities
13:23 And if you don't believe me go back and watch Georgia Georgia Tech
13:26 2022 last year at home Georgia Tech scores, I think 21 points in that football game
13:31 Oh 17 17 damn near wins Brent Key his job essentially they played tough first half
13:36 You know that mean you know that kind of thing and all it was down set Hutt chuck it up
13:40 They had their matchup in the slot
13:42 And you know this football team it will find theirs in that same spot as well, but way out extended outside the numbers
