00:39 The dark continent. Land of adventure.
00:42 Africa. The unknown. Black, foreboding, mysterious Africa.
00:48 November 24th. We landed on the romantic Ivory Coast.
00:53 Rounding up porters for our safari, we pushed off toward the interior.

01:04 November 25th. Safari.
01:07 Across vast stretches of wastelands, through the forest of Mubasa.
01:14 Up the slopes of Mount Mokakia. Down the valley of the Umbambugi.
01:23 Over crocodile infested waters. Onward, ever onward pushed our safari.
01:30 Out onto the open valve.
01:32 February 11th.
01:35 [music]
01:49 Suddenly, we reached the interior.
01:52 [horse neighing]
01:54 [crashing]
01:56 Pitched camp near a waterhole.
01:58 [crashing]
02:00 And were swallowed by the inky African night.

02:07 During the night, our waterhole was visited by many strange and interesting animals.
02:13 One, a superb specimen of the heart beast.
02:16 Obviously named because of the unusual design of his, uh, horns.

02:23 A handsome zebra also became thirsty.

02:32 Another rare fellow was the spotted or laughing hyena.

02:43 Then came a beautiful specimen of the warthog.

03:14 And after some difficulty, succeeded in quenching my thirst.

03:23 Ah, the African sunrise.

03:31 At the crack of dawn, I leaped from my couch, ready for my morning plunge.

06:38 Down the slopes of Mount Makakia.
06:40 Through the forest of Mubasa.
06:41 Back until we reached the ivory coastline.
06:43 And did the ocean stop us as we sailed for far horizons.
06:46 Sailed into the tropic sunset.
06:47 Thus we left this land of romance with its beasts of belt and forest.
06:50 Left it for the other hunters.
06:52 And believe me, they can have it.
