00:00 My name's Alastair from the Sheffield Star, welcome to Sheffield Christmas Market 2023.
00:04 You've only just arrived here but you were already talking about the stall behind you.
00:07 What did you find today?
00:08 Yeah, nice and bright colours.
00:11 Got us the first bauble for our granddaughter.
00:14 Lovely.
00:15 First baby.
00:16 First baby.
00:17 First Christmas.
00:18 First Christmas.
00:19 Newest edition, that's fine.
00:20 Happy little edition.
00:21 What are you hoping to find today?
00:23 Just some Christmas lights, isn't it?
00:26 Just some Christmas charm, yeah.
00:27 Stocking fillers, maybe get something to eat and all.
00:31 Have you enjoyed it most years?
00:34 I love Christmas anyway, sure.
00:36 There weren't enough Tinkit stalls last year, it was just food and drink.
00:42 Now there seems to be a bit more Tinkits and stocking fillers and stuff.
00:47 It's a warmer day today.
00:50 It's Alastair from the Sheffield Star.
00:51 We're just out here today asking people what it's like to have the Christmas Market back here in Sheffield.
00:54 How have you found it so far?
00:56 It's great.
00:57 Everything feels very festive.
00:58 It feels so much busier in town.
01:00 There's just people everywhere and everyone's in high spirits, which is lovely.
01:04 It smells amazing because there's just loads of Christmas dinners and hot chocolates everywhere.
01:08 So yeah, great.
01:09 It's quite well organised this year.
01:10 They've managed to keep things in a straight line by putting it down the moor instead.
01:13 I don't know if you have found that side of it interesting at all.
01:16 Yeah, it feels like there's more this year as well.
01:18 It feels more bulky and there's not as much gaps in between the different elements.
01:23 I think there's also more independent shops.
01:26 There's Luke Watton.
01:29 We love him.
01:30 He makes all of the Sheffield-inspired graphics and stuff.
01:32 He's here.
01:33 And if you have the candle makers, the independents and stuff.
01:36 So yeah, it feels a bit more thought more into it this year.
01:39 It's lovely.
