Joe Burrow Injured in Bengals' Loss to Ravens
Transcript
00:00 He suffered it in the second quarter and was in a ton of pain after throwing a touchdown
00:05 pass to Joe Mixon and couldn't grit the ball on the sidelines.
00:11 And that's really all we know.
00:13 He was really frustrated.
00:14 He was trying to play through it.
00:15 It wasn't a matter of him being able to play through the pain.
00:17 It was a matter of him being able to grip the football, which he could not do on the
00:21 sideline.
00:22 It very, very frustrated Joe Burrow.
00:25 Zach Taylor told sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung that Joe wasn't going to go back out
00:31 there.
00:32 He was quickly ruled out shortly after that as the third quarter started.
00:36 And so one, there was a social media uproar on Thursday morning and late Wednesday night
00:43 when Joe had a wrap on his hand.
00:47 And clearly that was some kind of medical device, some kind of brace, and that this
00:52 was something that he was dealing with prior to Thursday night.
00:56 Now, clearly it wasn't nearly as serious and he didn't have any trouble gripping the ball
01:00 in practice.
01:01 There was no issues like that.
01:02 So he aggravated it at some point, got tackled by Jadavion Clowney.
01:07 Maybe it was then, but really winced and couldn't throw again after that touchdown pass to Joe
01:14 Mixon.
01:15 And this is just, this is the nightmare scenario.
01:18 And certainly a scenario that no one that I think everyone watching has thought about
01:23 that no one wants to see.
01:25 And so we'll see what happens with Burrow, how, if he can come back and play and in 10
01:33 days as we record this against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he's on the sideline, he's in
01:38 uniform.
