00:00 So we keep our eyes open all year, we're looking for a lovely bushy specimen with a single stem
00:05 unlike your Christmas tree at home, you know you can maybe put it against a wall
00:09 with this one it's got to be perfect on all sides.
00:11 We've got 250 square miles here of Keildor Forest
00:14 so we've got about 150 million trees to choose from
00:17 it's harder than you think though, finding that perfect tree.
00:20 It was grown in an open area of land so it got that nice form all the way round it
00:25 it got a lovely straight stem so it was the ideal tree for going to Westminster.
00:30 Sitka spruce is a nice bushy tree, it's a little bit spiky
00:34 so people aren't quite as tempted to maybe climb them in town centres and things like that
00:38 and the spruce is a classic Christmas tree as well
00:41 a lot of people will have had Norway spruce in their house which is that classic racing green colour.
00:45 There's that fresh sawdust smell from the tree, it's lovely.
00:49 So I'll be heading back and putting the Christmas decorations up now, I've held off until this was done.
00:56 For over 20 years now we've provided the Christmas tree for Westminster
00:59 and it's something we're immensely proud to do.
