A new bar bringing unexpected combinations to the people of Greater Manchester has arrived in Salford Quays.

11 Central is a microbrewery and bar set up by the family behind two of Manchester's best known drinks brands - Seven Bro7hers Brewery and the Four Sis4ers Distillery.

The eleven siblings have joined forces in this brand new venture at the Central Bay site in MediaCity.

The bar will serve a huge range of food and drink across a 2000sq foot site overlooking the quays - and there's even a microbrewery onsite and distilling sessions available for those who want to learn the craft of making gin.

00:00 "There'll be theatre goers that will probably want to come here, there'll be people going to
00:04 the football that want to come in here, there'll be people who love gin,
00:08 hen parties, stag do's, people can come to us and they could literally spend the day here."
00:14 A new bar bringing unexpected combinations to the people of Greater Manchester has arrived
00:19 in Salford Quays. 11 Central is a microbrewery and bar set up by the family behind two of
00:25 Manchester's best-known drinks brands, Seven Brothers Brewery and the Four Sisters Gin
00:29 Distillery. The 11 siblings have joined forces in this brand new venture at the Central Bay site
00:35 in Media City. The bar will serve a huge range of food and drink across a 2,000 square foot venue
00:41 overlooking the Quays. And there's even a microbrewery on site and distilling sessions
00:47 available for those who want to learn the craft of making gin. "The brothers began their business
00:52 about 10 years ago after Keith had been working in Oslo, saw the craft brewing business doing
00:57 really well, wanted to come together and do something with his brothers which he did.
01:01 They set up their brewery about 10 years ago now and they always wanted to open bars and they
01:07 started with their first bar in Ancote and have subsequently opened another five bars.
01:12 We as the sisters were watching what they were doing and thought we'd like to get involved with
01:17 our own business. Seven years ago now we set up our business Four Sisters Distillery. We got the
01:22 opportunity to move into this space here. We said it's such a great space, we could perhaps come
01:29 together and do something together as the 11 of us and 11 Central was born. We're all from Salford,
01:35 grew up here, our grandparents, our grandfathers worked on Salford Dock so it just seemed the
01:40 perfect time and the perfect place. I think we were just excited about having two completely
01:46 different kind of concepts, gin and beer together. When we've been doing the branding we've talked
01:51 about expect the unexpected and that's what we wanted. We wanted this space to be a real
01:56 place where people could come and you know have a real adventure instead of it just being a bar.
02:03 So we've got the gin area where you can make gin, we're going to have the brewing area where you can
02:08 brew beer, we're going to have great food, great music and yeah we're a unique family. There's 11
02:15 of us obviously but we're all so different, we all bring something different to the table. We just
02:20 thought this was a really good spot to do it and it had the space to house all of us so that was
02:26 why we decided that this was a great place to be. I've lived here all my life, over 50 years and to
02:32 see the changes that have been happening in Salford over the last 10, 15, 20 years has been amazing
02:38 and the people of Salford are great people and we really want to create our own centre. That's what
02:44 I think they've been trying to achieve with you know the opening of Cargo and the opening of 11
02:50 Central and obviously all the things that are happening at Media City on the other side and
02:56 I think the people of Salford deserve to have you know an area like this that's just booming
03:02 and blossoming. Everybody's really really excited about it.
